Weaving through forests, skimming across lakes! A guide to Xi'an's Three Rivers and One Mountain Greenway
Weaving through forests, skimming across lakes,
cycling around the lake, riding the wind.
Let's be wind-chasing youths,
go see the enchanting lakeside scenery,
breathe in the natural oxygen bar,
fill our eyes with refreshing greenery.
When tired, find a patch of grass,
have a roadside picnic.
This is the most perfect day I can imagine
— Xi’an Three Rivers and One Mountain Greenway.
The 'Three Rivers and One Mountain' Greenway
is an ecological slow-traffic system built on the existing levee roads of the Chanba River, Wei River, and Feng River,
and the S107 Huanshan Tourist Road,
designed for cycling, walking, sightseeing, leisure,
and more multi-functional activities.
The newly opened 293-kilometer main path
attracted many locals and tourists during the May Day holiday,
and fully geared cycling enthusiasts
became a beautiful sight along the greenway.
Mr. Wang, 65, and his friends are all cycling enthusiasts.
This May Day, their cycling date was set on the Three Rivers and One Mountain Greenway.
Hopping on their bikes and onto the dedicated cycling lane,
Mr. Wang and his friends exclaimed, 'It's so beautiful!'
'Cycling here, you don't have to ride alongside traffic,
and you can enjoy the scenery along the way — it feels great!'
Mr. Wang said excitedly.
He and his cycling buddies plan to experience the entire loop of the greenway.
A total of 39 service stations opened simultaneously with the greenway,
offering sports, dining, leisure,
sightseeing, shopping, and other services.
Cyclists no longer need to bring their own supplies;
on the Three Rivers and One Mountain Greenway,
these service stations along the route can meet all their needs.
The Three Rivers and One Mountain Greenway
is hailed as 'Xi'an's most photogenic greenway.'
The entire 293-kilometer route,
with its ups and downs, is a dedicated cycling path
free of other vehicles and in great condition —
it's absolutely the top choice for recreational cycling.
There's no dust or noise here, just peace and tranquility.
As you ride, birdsong drifts from the treetops.
The greenway winds alongside mountains and lakes in delightful contrast.
Riding through, a cool breeze greets your face,
and looking up, you see rolling peaks.
Gather a few friends for a cycling date with nature.
Between driving and walking,
there's another free way to move — cycling.
Walking is too slow, driving is too dull.
Why not go cycling on the most beautiful greenway?
Watch the roadside scenery recede step by step,
feel the breeze in your hair,
and be wrapped in greenery — that's a long-lost feeling of freedom.
