Searching for Beautiful Towns, Exploring the Infinite Possibilities of Inner Mongolia
In 2021, GAC Mitsubishi's 'Searching for Beautiful Towns' campaign set off again. This time, we arrived in the vast and resource-rich Inner Mongolia. What comes to mind when you think of Inner Mongolia? Endless grasslands or herds of cattle and sheep? As a first-time visitor to Inner Mongolia, I set out on this trip with the same curiosity.
The entire event spanned over 500 kilometers, covering a variety of terrains including national highways, expressways, rural county roads, deserts, and grasslands. Such diverse road conditions truly tested the exceptional quality of the Outlander we were driving.
For frequent travelers like us, choosing an SUV is crucial. It not only offers a higher ground clearance and ample space but also comes with four-wheel drive, providing you with a sense of security.
Our first stop was the Kubuqi Desert, the seventh largest desert in China. To most people, deserts sound barren and desolate, but the essence of GAC Mitsubishi's beauty-seeking journey is to explore the myriad possibilities of the world.
Now, tourism has been developed here, and through scientific management, greenery is increasing. Clusters of tenacious green plants spread along both sides of the road, stretching across the rolling yellow sand dunes, showcasing the remarkable achievements of ecological restoration in the Kubuqi Desert.
Along with fellow GAC Mitsubishi owners, I went deep into the desert to plant trees—digging sand, planting, and watering. As a company that consistently practices an eco-friendly lifestyle and actively fulfills its social responsibilities, GAC Mitsubishi not only explores natural and cultural landscapes but also remains committed to the journey of sustainable ecological development.
After planting, we left our wish tags on the trees, representing our best wishes for this desert. It was our small contribution to the Kubuqi Desert.
After 28 years of governance, the Kubuqi Desert has also developed a desert tourism resort, transforming the seemingly barren desert into a place of wealth and a tourist destination.
"The Great Beauty of Kubuqi, the Scenic Seven-Star Lake"—within the Kubuqi Desert lies this Seven-Star Lake, a breathtaking combination of lakes and desert.
On the second day, we left Kubuqi and drove to the vast grasslands within Hanggin Banner, Ordos City—a place known as the "Land of Archery and Nomadic Pasture."
Thanks to the excellent chassis tuning, the Outlander handled the undulating grassland roads smoothly, effectively suppressing bumps. The extraordinary quality of Mitsubishi's century-old heritage was fully demonstrated.
Ordos Grassland covers an area of 16,000 mu (about 2,640 acres). With its legendary tales and the famous slogan "Ordos warms the world," it has earned global renown. Green grass, fragrant soil—it feels like a dream home.
The Galsang flowers on the grassland have always been a spiritual symbol, representing people's longing for happiness and good fortune.
Mongolian yurts are a unique aspect of Mongolian culture, and the local herders are generally very hospitable, embracing tourists from all over the world with open hearts.
The endless vastness can make you forget all worries. Riding a small train through the grassland, feeling the breeze carrying the scent of soil, I couldn't help but wish I were a gallant horse, freely racing across the boundless prairie.
This event of GAC Mitsubishi's 'Searching for Beautiful Towns' is drawing to a close. We shared joy, emotion, and the thrill of exploring the unknown with fellow GAC Mitsubishi owners.
GAC Mitsubishi has evolved from a mere automobile tool manufacturer into a leader and explorer of a beautiful automotive lifestyle. Our love and public welfare actions are always on the road! See you again next year!
