2024 Baotou: 3-Day, 2-Attraction Itinerary for Business & Family Travel – Must-Stay Hotels, ~1000 RMB/Person Self-Drive
How to have fun in Baotou? Where to stay?
Do you want to see scenic spots with unique Inner Mongolian flair, take a self-drive trip around the area, or relax and unwind in the city? Looking for indoor fun when the weather changes so you don't waste your holiday, or hoping to join some cultural activities? We've rounded up Baotou's best spots for you:
【Accommodation】We recommend staying in the city center. Many hotels in Baotou are older, but I found a newly opened place near the Baobai Commercial Pedestrian Street in the Kundulun District. Called Lucheng Hotel, it has smart facilities, a thoughtful seven-point service promise, a laundry room, a gym, and even free late-night snacks. The service is excellent.
1. Surrounding Scenic Spots:
Wudangzhao Monastery, known as the Little Potala Palace beyond the Great Wall
Ma'anshan, a must for hikers and climbers
Meiligeng, a scenic 4A-rated spot
Meidaizhao Lamasery, set among hills and waters, featuring both an ancient town and a temple
Qixing Lake, a stunning blend of desert oasis and lake scenery
2. Fun in the City:
Saihan Tala Urban Grassland
Baotou Amusement Park, Olympic Sports Park, Nanhai Park, Laodong Park Zoo… catering to all your different needs
Dongdashan Art Zone, a favorite among artsy types
Seek blessings at Miaofa Chan Temple—temple tours are trending among young people these days
Watch the sunset over the Yellow River at Xiaobai River
3. Eat, Drink, and Have Fun:
Baobai Pedestrian Street in Kundulun District and the Underground Sanshilipu National Snack Street
Jiuyuan Wanda Plaza and Jiuyuan Hengshu Street (the street snacks on Hengshu Street are great now)
Wuyue Plaza in Kundulun District and Donghe Moore Mall
