A Bali Destination Wedding Recap | Our Intimate Ceremony in Paradise
Destination Wedding · Just the Two of Us · Bali Dream Chapel Wedding
Neither of us likes fuss. The thought of a big wedding, waking up at 4 a.m. for door games, picking up the bride, tea ceremonies, and all those formalities gave us headaches—let alone months of planning. So we ditched it.
Our final decision (best decision ever, haha): a "three-in-one" Bali wedding—ceremony, destination pre-wedding photoshoot, and honeymoon all in one. No tedious rituals, just soaking up the breathtaking scenery and pure happiness of the moment. We absolutely loved it.
Back home, we hosted a thank-you banquet for our immediate families, taking care of social courtesies and, well, conveniently collecting red envelopes too.
Here are my tips and a step-by-step for couples planning a Bali or overseas destination wedding:
1. Destination: Bali offers visa on arrival. Grab your passport, book a flight, and you're good to go. Wedding, photoshoot, honeymoon—everything is just wow.
2. Picking the venue: Overseas wedding venues include chapels, water terraces, lawns, beaches... If you love chapel and water terrace settings, check out Bali Dream Chapel and Dream Water Terrace (Dream Chapel Wedding Bali). They're set within the beautiful five-star Pecatu resort in South Kuta. The Dream Chapel seats 40 guests; the Dream Water Terrace, a 226-square-meter glass-surfaced platform, fits 26 guests; the lawn can host a banquet for 200; and the indoor Dream Palace (Dream Palace Bali) spans 1,100 square meters and accommodates up to 500 for banquets, events, and themed weddings. From here, you overlook the stunning natural landscapes of South Kuta—the sea blending with the sky, the serene golf course. Gentle sea breezes and romantic scenery make your dream wedding a reality, with every view framing the most important moment of your life.
Honeymoon tips:
√ Get a local SIM card and travel adapter ready beforehand.
√ Download the Grab app before you leave (it's like Uber/Didi and also lets you order food).
