Exquisite architecture, works of genius designers, unforgettable cuisine, colorful markets, passionate Flamenco—Barcelona truly deserves to be called the pearl of the Iberian Peninsula.

When we first landed, we were extremely disappointed because that day happened to be a taxi strike in Barcelona. Originally, because of the heat, we wanted to take a taxi directly to our Airbnb, but seeing the empty streets left us helpless, so we had to go back to the airport to find the metro.

Fortunately, the metro and buses were not on strike along with the taxis. We took the metro to quickly get to the homestay and drop off our luggage.

Near the homestay, striking taxis blocked several roads, but the bus lanes and sidewalks were fine. Friends driving themselves will have to carefully plan their routes.

After freshening up, we went to the nearby Barcelona Cathedral. I wore my red spaghetti-strap dress, thinking it would match the blue sky. Haha, as it turned out, the cathedral has rules against shorts, short skirts, and sleeveless tops. If you go, you must plan your outfit accordingly. Two of our group of four couldn't go in, including me. According to the two friends who went inside, the interior was quite exquisite. I can only show you the exterior of the cathedral.

We bought ice-cold drinks from a street vendor, found a shady spot, and sat watching the passersby.

Then we went to Casa Batlló, which, besides the Sagrada Família, is my favorite Gaudí work. It is filled with a marine atmosphere from the outside in. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005; don't miss it.

When I went, it was peak season, and there were too many people inside. I recommend that if you visit during peak season, go as early as possible so your photos will look better. Otherwise, you'll only capture crowds, and it's hard to photograph the exquisite and imaginative designs.

The visit takes about one hour. There is an audio guide available in Chinese; you can follow it to slowly explore the whimsical designs of Casa Batlló.

The roof was scorching hot but still beautiful.

I feel that if I had lived in a house like this during my childhood, I would have become an architect with rich imagination and endless inspiration, hahaha.

After that, we went to the most anticipated Sagrada Família.

The Sagrada Família is the most famous iconic building, under construction for a hundred years and still unfinished. The facade is themed around the birth of Jesus and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The facial lines of the figures are somewhat modern; at a glance, it feels like you are witnessing the process of the Passion. The interior is even more exquisite, breathtaking, with a perfect blend of light and color. When I saw it, I thought of the design of the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

I recommend purchasing tickets and booking your visit time in advance on the official website to avoid long queues during peak hours or season. In the hot summer, waiting in long lines could lead to heatstroke.

After the visit, we went to Sichuan Restaurant for a long-overdue Chinese meal. It was very delicious! Highly recommended!

Probably because I hadn't eaten Chinese food for so long.

After eating, we strolled along the street and then returned to rest.

The next morning, we got up early to visit Ciutadella Park.

The park has great scenery, a large green area, and a well-designed plaza. We happened to pass by; the highlight was the Arc de Triomf, which is very imposing, and the surrounding scenery is also beautiful.

Around noon, we had a meal and then went to the Chocolate Museum to visit and escape the heat.

After buying tickets, they give you a chocolate with a flag based on your nationality?

Inside the museum, there are many chocolate sculptures themed around various movies and anime, very delicate. But the scale is not large enough; if you have no other plans, you can come take a look.

Personally, I found the experience average. It wasn't as grand as I expected, but overall it was okay.

Then we went to our favorite market!!!

Everywhere I go, I like to check out the local markets. A slight difference from China is that in many European countries, the markets pay great attention to the art of display. It feels like they are not selling vegetables, fruits, and seafood, but works of art.

Fruits are very cheap; you can buy them to beat the heat and quench your thirst!

I really love places full of the vibrancy of life. Here you can get a different feeling from visiting tourist attractions.

Our arms got completely red from the sun on the beaches of Málaga, and Barcelona was also experiencing high temperatures, so we decided to skip the Barcelona beaches and instead go shopping in the various stores in the city center.

I was very happy; stores with air conditioning are my love. Haha, I don't regret not going to the beach, because we can always go another time!

Probably all women are missing 10,086 pairs of shoes, hahaha.

Barcelona's architecture is magnificent, its cuisine unparalleled, but what captivated me the most were the passionate Flamenco dancers in the taverns. I highly recommend that everyone go to taverns in the evening; many have performances. Seeing them immediately immerses you in a passionate atmosphere, and all worries vanish. Overall, it's an absolutely amazing city. I suggest combining sightseeing with experiencing local life. Only visiting tourist spots will be especially tiring. I give a million recommendations to Barcelona's vibrant markets!

Barcelona is truly a treasure of Spain!

I will update more travel notes and guides in the future. Welcome to follow me and leave messages!
