A Journey to Yuanbao Mountain
On Tomb-Sweeping Day, I returned to my hometown. With some free time, I took my family to enjoy the scenic spots. The place was thronged with tourists; willows were green and flowers were red. We ascended the stone steps and gradually entered a beautiful realm. The Five-Zhang Yuanbao (ingot) symbolizes fortune, longevity, peace and health. The Bagua Taiji (Eight Trigrams and Tai Chi) and the Century Tripod stood. The Hundred-Meter Gallery exuded ancient charm. The thousand-acre forest was lush and verdant. Looking east, we saw the waterside with rows of tall buildings; looking west, we saw Pengcheng with booming industry; looking south, we saw the Rain Pavilion in a misty drizzle; looking north, we saw windmills with exotic foreign charm. The Bamboo Forest Pagoda hung with bells carried in the wind. Peacocks spread their tails, dancing with affection. Mushroom-shaped pavilions dotted the area; small springs went ding-dong. Butterflies spread their wings and flew into the woods. The mountain path was rugged; sheer cliffs hung in the air. Elk drums faced each other, and the Li Dragon emerged from its cave. The Fu River stretched to the horizon, a vast expanse of blue. Sails were raised for a long voyage, straight across the blue sea. Before Wind and Moon Pass, Cao Cao and Yuan Shang fought a great battle. By Black Dragon Cave, the two Dou (Dou Jiande and Dou Zong) contended. Historical events are like water, flowing east and never returning. I praise my Yuanbao Mountain, standing tall and unmoved.
Postscript: On Tomb-Sweeping Day, I visited the famous scenic spot Yuanbao Mountain in Handan with my family. We saw the Mushroom Pavilion, Butterfly Pavilion, and Rain Pavilion; visited the Bamboo Forest Temple, Wind and Moon Pass, and Black Dragon Cave. There was also a thousand-acre forest, the Fu River stretching to the horizon, and a vast expanse of blue! Viewing this scenery, one feels suddenly enlightened, forgetting honor and disgrace, and completely relieved. I then remembered that before Wind and Moon Pass, Cao Cao defeated Yuan Shang, and Dou Jiande fought fiercely with Dou Zong. These famous figures, like the Fu River flowing east, have been submerged in the vastness of history. Only this Yuanbao Mountain still stands, laughing at the changes of the world. At this, I cannot help but feel emotional, sighing at the ups and downs of life, the smallness of human existence, and only the mountains and rivers endure through the ages. Therefore, I composed a poem to express my feelings for this scenic wonder.
