This trip was the first one after the Taihang Mountain road was cut off. Communicating with the homestay owner, I learned that on July 29th, a sudden heavy rain lasted for two consecutive days. The homestay completely lost contact with the outside world, with water and power outages and no internet. It took about eight or nine days for the homestay to resume normal operations. The homestay was in relatively good condition during the heavy rain and wasn't too badly affected. However, the road into the mountains was washed away and is under active repair.
This wasn't my first time at Manning Homestay; the owner and I have become friends. The owner is very hospitable and warm-hearted, and offers seasonal local fruits to all guests staying at the property. This time, it was apples freshly picked locally—very big and sweet. There were also packaged dried fruits, which was very thoughtful.
This time entering the mountains, I could clearly feel that the temperature was a bit lower than last month. It drizzled in the evening, feeling very refreshing—unlike the stuffy heat in the city. This time, my boyfriend creatively shot a video for me, and the outfit was provided by the homestay owner and fit perfectly!
Take a look at how my boyfriend's work turned out—does it pass the test of you all?
