One-Day Trip to She County, Hebei
On September 6, I set out early from Zhengding County, heading south along the national highway. Passing through Xingtai city center, the towering buildings and neat, clean streets left a deep impression. Entering Handan, the environment seemed less pleasant than Xingtai. Handan, as the capital of the ancient Zhao state, is very famous, and I wanted to see it properly, but the first impression was not good, dampening my travel enthusiasm. I parked the car in front of Congtai Park, took a photo, and then drove on to She County, Hebei. She County is located in the Taihang Mountains. During the War of Resistance, it was the headquarters of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army, a place where the soul of the Taihang military was forged. Near the old site, a memorial hall has been built, and we drove there to visit. She County also has a 5A scenic spot, the Palace of Nüwa, 9 kilometers from the county seat. The story of Nüwa mending the sky is well-known, and the Nüwa culture formed from it has a long history. The Palace of Nüwa in She County is a prominent representative. The core building of the Palace of Nüwa is on the mountain. With limited physical strength, we had to take the scenic area shuttle bus and only took a cursory look. That night we stayed in She County. The She County Guojia Hotel is located in the courtyard of the Housing and Property Bureau, with convenient and safe parking. The hotel has an elevator, which is convenient for the elderly.
