2020 Harbin 2-Day 1-Night Travel Guide, Harbin Business Trip Hotel Recommendations, Hotels Near Central Street
Harbin is a city of ultimate white romance and European-style romance. Central Street, for instance, is lined with many European-style buildings in Renaissance, Baroque, and other styles. When it snows in winter, this European romance gains an extra layer of white purity.
I've recommended to many people that when you come to Harbin, you must visit and stroll around Sophia Cathedral.
【Saint Sophia Cathedral】
Saint Sophia Cathedral is not far from Central Street; you can easily visit both in one trip. It's a short walk. The cathedral's main building is magnificent and covers a large area. There's also a market nearby, adding a touch of everyday life to the architecture.
While walking around here, you might even feel as if you're standing on a street in a European city, which is why Harbin is called the "Paris of the East." Due to the pandemic, my last visit to Harbin was quite a while ago, but that doesn't stop me from sorting through old photos on my computer and reminiscing about this trip.
【Harbin Wanda Mao Ski Resort】
Speaking of Harbin's white romance, I must recommend a place with snow.
So I recommend this indoor ski resort: Harbin Wanda Mao Ski Resort. Its advantage is that it's in the downtown area, so transportation is convenient and you don't have to travel far. It covers 80,000 square meters, has 6 ski runs with different slopes, a vertical drop of 80 meters, and can accommodate 1,500 people skiing at the same time! But it's certainly not open yet; you can make a reservation online, and when it officially opens, you'll be notified by text message.
【Recommended Accommodation】
Hotel: Harbin Wutong Negative Oxygen Ion Hotel
Address: Floors 26-28, Block E, Yintai City, No. 4206 Lijiang Road, Daoli District, Harbin [Qunli Bund Leisure Cultural Area]
Since I always visit Central Street and Sophia Cathedral when I come here, I choose a hotel in this area. It's a hotel I've stayed at many times, and it has never disappointed me. Now let me introduce it to you:
This hotel is themed around health and environmental protection. The room decoration clearly shows great attention to detail. The staff said the rooms use oxygen-generating mud materials. When a few friends and I came together, we chose a suite and stayed one night. We did feel more relaxed in our minds, and we liked the simple yet elegant decoration style.
Back then, each room had a sterilizer with sterilized towels. Even now, I have to say their protective measures were really good.
The view from here is also excellent. You can brew a cup of hot tea and quietly take in the sights of Central Street and Qunli Bund.
This hotel offers suites where you can cook your own meals, equipped with a range of kitchenware. If you find it inconvenient to eat out or have concerns, you can easily show off your cooking skills right in the room.
There are also many distinctive restaurants nearby. And here, two people can get full from just two dishes! The portions are really generous! Don't miss out on their specialties: cold noodles, Kill-the-Pig Dish, Guobao Rou (crispy pork slices), Demoli Stewed Live Fish, Harbin Red Sausage, Pine Nut Small Belly, and Modern Ice Pops.
If you want to buy some local specialties, consider: Dàlièbā bread and Harbin red sausage.
Such an itinerary is perfect for a 2-day, 1-night weekend trip: one day for shopping and sightseeing, one day for skiing and buying local products.
