The summer heat seems to arrive late occasionally, but it never fails to show up. That's right, with the end of the college entrance exam and the start of summer vacation, everyone is once again looking for places to escape the heat.

Speaking of Harbin, iconic landmarks like 'Ice and Snow World', 'Central Street', and 'Sofier Cathedral' always come to mind. This time, besides visiting these iconic sites, I also went to the following places, which I found to be great spots during the trip, and I recommend them to you:

Flood Control Monument:

Walking north from Central Street all the way to the end, you'll reach the Songhua River. The Flood Control Monument is set along the river here. Friends who love river views should not miss it. You can experience the unique romance of the river view here.

Old Daowai is a historic old district in Harbin, where you can see Baroque-style buildings from the early 20th century everywhere. It's easy to take great photos here. The food here is also very famous. Many people travel long distances or stand in long lines just for a bun.

Dragon Tower holds the title of 'Asia's highest iron tower' and offers a panoramic view of Harbin. There is also a flight simulation experience center where you can experience flying a plane. A professional guy will guide you to operate the aircraft. The cockpit is a 1:1 replica, and there are several different landscapes to choose from.

Modier Ice Cream:

When you come to Harbin, you must try Modier Ice Cream. It melts in your mouth, sweet but not greasy, and is made using traditional techniques. Perhaps because its taste has remained the same for a hundred years, it has gained great popularity. The shop entrance is always lined with eager customers, and you can see tourists enjoying the ice cream everywhere on the street.

Borscht, also known as Russian soup, originated in Ukraine and is very popular in Russia and other Eastern European countries. So you can taste it in any Russian-style Western restaurant in Harbin. Borscht is mainly made with tomatoes, along with potatoes, carrots, onions, beef, etc. It is bright in color, thick but not greasy, and sweet and sour, very appetizing.

You must visit Zhang Bao Pu. Their most famous items are pork rib buns and tofu buns. The pork rib buns are delicious. The round ones are the pork rib buns, and the long ones are the tofu buns. They are both bestsellers. You cannot order an odd number; you can only order an even number. So we ordered four of each. But in reality, the buns were huge, and three of us couldn't finish them. Actually, ordering two of each to share would have been enough.

When it comes to authentic Harbin cuisine, you can't miss Guo Bao Rou (Double-Cooked Pork Slices). Actually, it was originally called 'Guo Bao Rou' (with 'bao' meaning 'explode'), but because Russians often pronounced 'bao' as 'bao', it gradually became 'Guo Bao Rou'. Freshly stir-fried Guo Bao Rou is golden in color, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, sweet and sour, making it one of the most unforgettable Harbin dishes for many tourists.

For accommodation this time, I chose a hotel near Central Street. It was very convenient for going out, eating, and shopping.

Hotel: Xi Xi Man Wu Hotel Apartment (Harbin Qunli Waitan Branch)

Address: 27th Floor, Building E, Yintai City, 4206 Lijiang Road, Daoli District, Harbin [Qunli Waitan Leisure and Cultural Area]

This time we stayed in a twin room. Due to the epidemic, the hotel was very meticulous in temperature checks and disinfection. As a guest, seeing this gave a sense of reassurance. This is a hotel-style apartment, and the room is fully equipped with kitchenware. There is also a small refrigerator, washing machine, air purifier, and disinfection cabinet. Staying here feels like home.

The decoration of the room is also a warm style, especially with a unique Northeastern family style. I confirmed that if I have the chance to come to Harbin again, I would still choose to stay here.

The service here is also top-notch. When I left the hotel, I forgot to take my charger. The hotel staff Zhang Chao helped me mail it home. Zhang Chao's service was really great and thoughtful, making me feel the enthusiasm of Northeasterners once again.

That's it for this record. I wish you a wonderful trip in Harbin!
