In the Last Month of 2020, Visiting Any of These Treasure Travel Destinations Is a Win!
December is a period of seasonal transition. The south is still amid yellow leaves, while the north is already covered in white snow. But the north has its beauty, and the south has its comfort.
As the year draws to a close, why not take one last trip to capture the final month of 2020 and end the year perfectly?
Wuzhen, Jiaxing, Zhejiang
This December, you should come to Wuzhen. The ancient town in its plain state never disappoints.
If you happen to catch the snow, you can stay here for a few days. Wake up naturally in the morning, and stroll through the ancient town in the evening. It may not be stunning, but it’s enough to comfort your soul.
Wuzhen’s rustic charm becomes even richer in the snow.
Sitting by the window in a daze, you might easily fall in love with this place, making it an unforgettable memory in your heart for the days to come.
Laojun Mountain
When it snows, Laojun Mountain becomes so beautiful that it seems otherworldly—like a celestial palace in heaven.
Unless you experience it yourself, you’ll never know just how beautiful Laojun Mountain is under the snow.
If you can stay overnight on the mountain top, opening the window will greet you with this heavenly view. This winter will be memorable for a lifetime.
Although the snowy weather is cold, as you climb step by step, every few steps reveals a scenic spot, and every ten steps shows an extraordinary view. You’ll forget the cold, leaving only awe.
Harbin, Heilongjiang
Visiting Harbin in winter needs no explanation. Skiing, ice sculptures, snow scenery—this is what winter looks like! There’s also the majestic Saint Sophia Cathedral and the whimsical Russian wooden houses!
The Songhua River has frozen over, and along the riverbank, there are many snow and ice activities unique to northern cities. But be sure to stay safe.
Like Harbin, Jilin City is also one of the most popular winter travel destinations in China. The best season to see rime ice in Jilin is from late December to the end of February.
Rime Island is a small island on the Songhua River. It is the place with the most concentrated rime and the best spot for viewing and photographing it.
In winter, the mist rising from the river envelops the small island, freezing into frost in the cold weather. The frost hangs on the trees around the island, forming clusters of white, jade-like rime.
In mid-December each year, while most parts of China are freezing cold, the beautiful Wuliang Mountain in Nanjian County, Yunnan, is full of spring. Pink winter cherry blossoms fill the valley.
It is 51 kilometers from the county seat, at an altitude of 2,175 meters. The blooming period is from late November to early December each year, lasting about 25 days, and the cherry blossom valley covers an area of about 2,000 mu (approx. 330 acres).
