A Leisurely One-Day Trip to Shenzhen Bao'an Fenghuang Mountain Farmhouse Picnic
In the modern metropolis of Shenzhen, we navigate crowded streets every day, busy with 9-to-5 jobs. Over time, we long to step outside and see the world, to experience poetry and distant lands. In fact, beyond the bustling skyscrapers, Shenzhen also boasts fresh and natural scenery. Always too busy with work, I've wanted to go to a farmhouse with a group of friends for a picnic barbecue, drink some beer, and chat about life.
A friend told me that the area around Tianzhongyuan near Fuyong Fenghuang Mountain has nice scenery, and there used to be farmhouses offering barbecue and meals. So I invited a few friends to come to Fenghuang Mountain. (Note: you need to make a reservation in advance.) I searched on Amap and the map location seemed a bit remote, as if leading into the mountains. I didn't dare go further until I saw the entrance.
We finally arrived inside. The scenery was lovely—the farmhouse faces the Qili Reservoir with a gentle breeze. I felt my whole mind relax.
Below the farmhouse are vegetable gardens, vineyards, and dragon fruit orchards where you can pick your own produce, all organically grown without pesticides. But we came at the wrong time—the fruits weren't ripe yet. Still, we picked some vegetables, and the price was reasonable. After all, it's only a few yuan more expensive than the market.
There's also a greenway around the reservoir for cycling, about ten kilometers or so, quite long. The farmhouse provides bicycles for riding.
When it was time for lunch, we chose a cookout—enjoying the fun of cooking our own meal. The ingredients, seasonings, and rice were all provided by the farmhouse, and the ingredients were very fresh. Personally, I think it's great to have a meal, drink, and chat with a few friends here!
In the afternoon, there were plenty of leisure activities: archery, billiards, table tennis, badminton, pottery making, cycling, chess and cards, hammocks, karaoke, and more. We had a blast!
We came on the weekend, so there were quite a lot of people, making it lively. Some were on corporate team-building trips, some on family outings, and others like us on a leisure trip. This outing was really wonderful—I'll definitely recommend this place for our next company team-building event. I'm really looking forward to coming again.
It's a bit off the beaten path, so you'll need navigation. Just search for "Tianzhongyuan Ecological Park" and you'll find it.
(A friendly tip: be sure to make a reservation in advance, otherwise you won't be allowed in.)
