Kunming, the starting point of Yunnan's southern and western tourism routes, is the provincial capital but holds an awkward position in the tourism world.

Because both Yunnan locals and out-of-town tourists feel there's not much fun in Kunming, many just treat it as a "transit hub."

In fact, that's not the case. Kunming is rich in tourism resources with numerous attractions of various types, including large amusement parks, Dianchi Lake, and some lesser-known spots. From lake and mountain scenery to ethnic customs, it has everything!

Anning is a transportation hub on the Kunming-Dali-Lijiang expressway, about an hour's drive from Kunming, with a lower population density than Kunming, making it very comfortable.

Kunming·Qinglong Gorge is located in Qinglong Town, Anning City. The road leads directly to the entrance of Qinglong Gorge. There are multiple routes from downtown Kunming to the scenic area, with the most comfortable route being: Hangrui Expressway - National Highway 320 - County Road A24 - National Highway 245 - Qinglong Gorge.

The Qinglong Gorge scenic area is surrounded by mountains and water, with many trees inside the area releasing a large amount of oxygen, providing very good air quality. The steep cliffs compete in beauty, waterfalls fly, and streams flow from the mountaintop to the foot. The entire environment is quiet and serene.

The pristine environment is perfect for "lung cleansing," a peaceful place not found in the bustling city, ideal for tourists who love mountain and water scenery.

Kunming·Qinglong Gorge covers an area of 190,000 square kilometers and is divided into four sections: the lower rafting area, leisure experience area, the mid-mountain ancient bamboo grove exploration area and valley sightseeing area, and the summit extreme challenge area. It takes about half a day to tour the entire scenic area, making it very suitable for a day trip around Kunming.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, you don't have to crowd with people or deal with traffic jams. Without leaving Kunming, you can wander through the landscapes of Qinglong Gorge!

Compared to summer, autumn at Kunming·Qinglong Gorge seems to have little change. The stream water is still abundant, running recklessly through the mountains. When autumn rain drifts, mist also shrouds the mountains.

The seasons are not distinctly different. It doesn't snow in winter, and there's no extreme heat in summer. If you want to judge the season, you can only rely on the blooming flowers.

If you look closely at the changes in autumn scenery, one difference might be that some broad-leaved forests gradually turn from green to yellow, and then fall to cover the ground.

Especially when you climb to the top of the mountain and look around at the sea of trees, you can better detect the rich "autumn flavor"!

Another difference is the large temperature gap between morning/evening and noon. Wearing summer clothes in the shade might feel a bit chilly, and the stream water is colder. Apart from that, there is no change.

Therefore, you can think of autumn at Qinglong Gorge as late summer. Without sudden storms, touring the entire scenic area becomes very smooth.

Kunming·Qinglong Gorge has many activities: the 5D glass bridge, rafting, shouting spring, jungle crossing, jungle slide, small train, and feeding fish. Many activities are actually "pairs" that need to be combined to fully enjoy.

The 5D glass bridge and the joke trap are a CP. If you experience the 5D glass bridge, you must try the joke trap. Although both involve "crossing a bridge," they are not the same.

The joke trap tests your balance and skill to pass, because if you fail, you are very likely to fall into the trap—either falling into the water or getting stuck.

The 5D glass bridge tests your courage and bravery, because the bridge is over 200 meters long and completely transparent, giving a feeling of stepping into the void. If you don't look carefully, you might fall.

Rafting and the shouting spring are also a CP. After rafting, you must try the shouting spring. Although both activities involve water, they give different feelings.

Rafting feels exciting and adventurous because the course is a natural river with uncontrollable water flow. It is precisely this unpredictability that makes rafting more fun and unique.

The shouting spring tests the pitch of your voice and the length of your breath. To see the "spring," you need skill: a high voice and even breathing to sustain the "water eruption."

Jungle crossing and the jungle slide are also a CP because both involve walking through the forest and viewing the scenery while shuttling through the mountains. The only difference is that jungle crossing requires a lot of physical strength and endurance.

The jungle crossing route has two levels: basic and advanced. The basic route is suitable for children and is relatively simple, while the advanced route is suitable for adults and is more difficult. Both routes extend from the foot of the mountain to the mid-mountain.

The jungle slide is even more fun. It's the fastest way down from the mountaintop. The slide is not very wide, only enough for one person to pass. Each section of the slide is very smooth to reduce friction, allowing people to slide easily.

The small train and feeding fish are also a CP. These two activities are most suitable for children, requiring no courage or bravery—just pure fun.

Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Food Collection: You Won't Be Able to Stop Eating!

Representative Yunnan cuisine, Kunming cuisine, and specialties from various prefectures gather at Kunming·Qinglong Gorge. Although they are not high-end dishes with delicate plating, they are just Yunnan-style flavors with a touch of "wildness." However, once you try them, you'll never forget.

Crossing-the-bridge rice noodles, small-pot rice noodles, stinky tofu rice noodles, fried potatoes, papaya water, wild vegetables, wild mushrooms, various barbecues—so many choices that it's hard to decide!
