Kunming Changchong Mountain Park is another high-altitude scenic and fitness forest oxygen bar after Xishan Park, offering panoramic views of Kunming's urban area. Visitors can see that Changchong Mountain (also known as Snake Mountain) lies like a stone giant python quietly resting in the northern suburbs of Kunming. In ancient times, Dianchi Lake was very large, and around it were four famous mountains, which are the east, west, north, and south mountains mentioned in the long couplet of Daguan Tower: Jinma Mountain, Biji Mountain (Xishan), Changchong Mountain, and Baihe Mountain. The phrase 'winding northward' refers to Changchong Mountain. One of the eight scenic spots of Kunming is 'Snake Mountain Reflection.'

The sunrise is a moment of breathtaking beauty, flowers and birdsong are quietly heard, half a day of leisure washes away a decade of worldly dreams, and leisurely steps gather flowers to return. On a clear weekend, you can hike along the ridge of Changchong Mountain with friends. Today, Changchong Mountain has become a paradise for outdoor sports and hiking enthusiasts.

In autumn on Changchong Mountain, large patches of foxtail grass sway their fuzzy 'tails' in the wind, and the sun casts a golden layer over the grass, making it hard to move on. Stepping on the yellow grass, walking to the mountainside, the scenery of northern Kunming unfolds before you. The wide view is refreshing and uplifting. At Changchong Mountain, you can not only enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery but also climb high to overlook the entire Kunming. At night, you can see the thousands of lights of the city, and in the morning, you can watch the beautiful sunrise slowly rise...

Here, you will see many tourists with cameras, capturing sunset and sunrise scenes as well as morning glow. Often you will see groups taking photos with the sunrise, and the scene is extraordinarily charming. The scenery of Changchong Mountain is beautiful, but the altitude is high at 2,345 meters, making it relatively difficult to climb. However, for those who dare to challenge themselves, this height is nothing. Whether you can capture the most beautiful sunrise depends on your perseverance.

On clear days, the top of Changchong Mountain is always lively. To the west of Changchong Mountain, where the mountain meets the sky, the sky is a rosy red, and the static clouds are brilliantly reflected, looking extremely beautiful. Cyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians—everyone comes here in their own way, combining exercise and sightseeing.

Find a flat rock to sit on, bathe in the strong wind at the summit, do nothing and think of nothing, watch the distant lights slowly turn on, and quietly enjoy the city's night sky. This is also a wonderful experience. Many people say they come up the mountain to see the moon and stars, and they can't help but exclaim that Changchong Mountain is truly a great place for exercise and sightseeing. No matter what time or what weather, it always seems popular. For Kunming locals, climbing Changchong Mountain to watch the sunset and enjoy the night scene is a very ordinary thing.

Attractions: A paradise for hiking enthusiasts and photographers, with free admission.

Transportation: Most visitors come by motorcycle or self-drive; there is no fixed transportation. No parking fee is required. Simply navigate to 'Changchong Mountain Park' and go from anywhere in Kunming. (Options: self-drive, car rental, taxi, motorcycle, etc.)

Accommodation: For nearby visitors, a hiking trip of about 3 hours is enough to return without needing accommodation. For out-of-province flight visitors or those wanting to shoot scenes, we recommend the Howard Johnson International Hotel Kunming Huadu, which is close to the airport and only about 10 kilometers from Changchong Mountain, making round trips convenient.

Notes:

1. There are no streetlights on the mountain; lighting depends on moonlight and city lights, which is generally sufficient. However, if you plan to return late after climbing, bring a flashlight, headlamp, or other lighting equipment for the descent.

2. There is no accommodation or food on the mountain. If you plan to stay longer, bring your own water, snacks, and other small items.

3. From December 1 to June 15 of the following year, Changchong Mountain is under fire prevention and forest closure protection. Do not go during this period!
