When I first met Kunming, it was the charming Dianchi Lake and the graceful Sleeping Beauty of Xishan; when I met Kunming again, I traced the 'Kunming Sunac Dianchi Back Bay', from ancient to modern, with food, drinks, and fun that made my heart flutter. My partner graduated in July, but due to the pandemic, there was no grand graduation trip. Hearing that Yunnan has beautiful scenery and warm-hearted people, I planned to secretly book high-speed rail tickets to surprise my partner.

Route: Foshan Station – Kunming Station. Airfare was expensive, but the high-speed rail took only seven and a half hours, costing a bit over 400 RMB. We chatted and laughed along the way, watched a drama, and soon arrived. I researched guides online, and to minimize travel fatigue and maximize our fun, I chose the Sunac Dianchi Back Bay, which offers a complete package of dining, entertainment, and fun – everything you could want. After getting off the high-speed rail, we took a taxi straight there – about 10 kilometers, costing around 20 RMB.

As soon as we arrived, we were hungry, and right next door was a Deshengqiao Bean Flower Rice Noodles shop. I thought a chain store might taste 'standard', but to my surprise, it was unexpectedly delicious.

TIPS: Bean Flower Rice Noodles: unexpectedly tasty. The meaty bean flower rice noodles in a small bowl cost 11 RMB, large bowl 14 RMB. The soybean-flour glutinous rice balls (two large ones) were 5 RMB and really hit my spot – soft and chewy, truly delicious. The rice pudding was also good, reminiscent of the rice paste I ate as a child, with a subtle milky flavor – just a light taste.

My little darling is such a kid – she couldn't walk past the arcade and insisted on dragging me in to catch a doll for her. Inside, the staff told us that in the 'Sunac Cultural Tourism Club' mini-program, new members can get 10 free coins. My little darling was as happy as if she had found a huge bargain.

Using my phone, we got 20 coins together, and with those 20 coins, we managed to grab a little puppy doll for her. It was basically getting something for nothing, and my little darling was thrilled. Hehehehe!

I ordered a cocktail – I forgot the name, but it tasted great, sweet, with no alcohol flavor, perfect for a small drink for girls.

Sitting in the garden outside, watching people come and go, taking a few photos of my little darling, she could be happy all afternoon – girls are really easy to please.

As evening fell and the sun set in the west, strolling through Dianchi Back Bay was truly a pleasure. Finding a place for dinner became our main task.

With a curious mindset, we decided to try this 'Love You Beef Plus' self-service beef hotpot. The restaurant was upscale, with thoughtful equipment, a good smoke exhaust system, and a clean condiment station.

We ordered three plates of meat: Wagyu beef, Dulong beef, and Angus beef. With beef, you also get seafood. There's something for everyone.

The seafood was fresh – I've had freshly caught seafood by the sea in Shantou, but compared to the beef, the seafood here was just a supporting role. With high-quality beef, we could eat freely at this restaurant, with unlimited drinks and ice cream.

The meaning of travel is to always be on the road with the one you love, holding hands and traveling together. After dinner, we strolled through the ancient town in Dianchi Back Bay. The traditional street-side buildings and the cool breeze made us feel completely at ease. I wished this street would never end.
