#Weekend 48-Hour Travel Guide for Office Workers: Kunming Sunac Dianchi Back Sea, a Must-Visit!
It all started with the hectic work. On Thursday afternoon, feeling immense pressure from work, I had to escape reality and go out. I mentioned it to my girlfriend Xiaoxi, and we immediately agreed, quickly planning a weekend getaway from the concrete jungle.
In this limited 48 hours, I wanted to lie in an air-conditioned room and also throw myself into trendy spots for young people to relax.
Looking around Kunming, Kunming Sunac Dianchi Back Sea was the best choice!
Reason for choosing: Two major theme parks—Sunac Snow World and Sunac Sea World; an ethnic-themed commercial street—Dianchi Back Sea; a star-rated hotel cluster with ethnic characteristics—Wanda Wen Hua Hotel; and numerous food, drink, entertainment, and shopping spots. Two days of fun without repetition.
Day 1: March Street—Wanda Wen Hua Hotel—Saka Street—Haya Street
After a good sleep, Xiaoxi and I booked a 2-day-1-night hotel package on the Kunming Sunac Dianchi Back Sea WeChat public account (including: one 1-night stay in a single-bedroom villa at Kunming Sunac Wanda Wen Hua Hotel; two buffet breakfasts; one double ticket to Sea World), then drove there. Since hotel check-in is at 2 PM, I took my girlfriend to check out March Street and Saka Street first. Xiaoxi, as a young foodie of the new era, is a hardcore "foodie" who is unhappy without eating well. I had no doubt about that. Eventually, we found that March Street and Saka Street are a place where traditional snacks and trendy restaurants coexist, blending Yunnan flavors with cuisines from all over. Every shop could capture Xiaoxi's stomach and heart. Then we strolled along Haya Street, which has the most specialty stores. An excellent MINISO Black Gold store and Cun's Silver Manor, dealing in traditional Yunnan ethnic silver jewelry, both earned my girlfriend's thumbs-up.
Day 2: Sea World—Yi People Street
On the second day, we went to Sea World. We took many photos and let my girlfriend experience the wonderful ocean world, from marine creatures to rainforest animals; from dolphin shows to interacting with seals; from mermaid performances to the love of white whales. Besides these, the venue also offers various entertainment facilities: hot air balloon rides, small boat tours, diving, and Soaring Over Yunnan. The Soaring Over Yunnan project is the most worthwhile—you can feel the colorful Yunnan scenery as if flying over it, viewing the entire Yunnan from a god's perspective. If you come to Kunming Sunac Dianchi Back Sea, you must experience it! Finally, we had dinner on Yi People Street, which was very delicious.
Lunch/Dinner Recommendations: Yunnan time-honored brand Jianxinyuan Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles, time-honored Vietnamese small rice rolls, Yunnese Dai Flavor.
Tips: Jianxinyuan offers many types of rice noodles, including small-pot rice noodles, changwang rice noodles, cross-bridge rice noodles... you can order according to your preference. For the time-honored Vietnamese small rice rolls, you can order boiled, fried, or dessert types, with a wide variety (strongly recommend Vietnamese spring rolls and crispy quail). Yunnese Dai Flavor is Xiaoxi's favorite restaurant (must-order dishes: lemon chicken, ghost chicken, special grilled pork belly). Every dish on the table reflects the traces of nature worship—green, original, appetizing and low-fat, it is very authentic and healthy original ecological Dai cuisine.
Hotel Recommendation: Kunming Sunac Wanda Wen Hua Hotel
Wen Hua Hotel not only incorporates local city characteristics but is also laid out with Yunnan's traditional "one seal" style, offering a perfect sense of space. This is Kunming's first villa hotel cluster, with dozens of villa guest rooms scattered among mountains and waters, each with an independent living room and a garden courtyard. This time we stayed in a single-bedroom villa, estimated at over 100 square meters, with an independent viewing balcony and courtyard. The big bed faces the floor-to-ceiling glass, making it easy to enjoy the scenery.
