The weather is getting warmer, making you want to go out and explore!

However, due to the coronavirus, we are asked to avoid travel or going out...

Some of you might have planned a trip to Osaka, right?

So this time, to let you enjoy an Osaka trip even from home, we introduce scenic spots that you can visit by taking the Osaka Metro!

These spots are not only scenic from the outside but also offer different breathtaking views from within.

First up is the ~Classic Edition~☆

01. The ultimate classic! Osaka Castle Tenshukaku♪

First, an absolute must-see!! Osaka Castle!

Built in 1583 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a commoner who unified the country.

It is very popular among Japan's distinctive castles, and the view of Osaka city from the Tenshukaku is magnificent♪

The Tenshukaku is of course beautiful, but I want to focus on Japan's tallest stone wall from a close-up perspective! At about 32m from the bottom of the moat, it's truly astonishing.

The tightly stacked stone wall is also imposing, and I hope you experience it!

And don't miss the largest stone inside the castle, the Yashio (Octopus Stone)!

You can see it after entering from the main entrance, the Sakuragomon. It is about 60㎡ in size and weighs approximately 108 tons. Even larger than the stones of the pyramids! How was it transported here?

If you take a photo in front of it, you'll look tiny!

Also, the observation deck of the Osaka Museum of History near Osaka Castle is a secret spot where you can enjoy a view of Osaka Castle blending with the skyscrapers☆

02. Enjoy an aerial walk at the Umeda Sky Building (Floating Garden Observatory)♪

With its unique appearance, the Umeda Sky Building is also called the "Arc de Triomphe of the Future."

It is a 40-story, 173m high-rise building and a landmark in Umeda, the center of Osaka.

The transparent elevator leading to the observatory is also mysteriously beautiful.

It feels like stepping into an unknown world, making you excited and curious♪

The rooftop Floating Garden Observatory offers 360-degree panoramic views!

You can see the cityscape of Osaka, including the forest of buildings and the Yodo River flowing into Osaka Bay.

The open space without glass in front of you makes you want to take a walk around and enjoy an aerial stroll♪

Walking while taking in the stunning views feels great.

Of course, the night view is also recommended! A sparkling, endless spectacle spreads out before you.

03. A retro building with 100 years of history! Osaka City Central Public Hall

Located in the business district of Nakanoshima, the Osaka City Central Public Hall is a historic building that celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018.

Its retro exterior with distinctive orange walls is captivating♪

Inside, the chandeliers and stained glass retain the atmosphere of the time, allowing you to experience the romance of the Taisho period (1912–1926).

Nearby, Kitahama is a spot with many stylish cafés.

From a riverside terrace seat, across the Tosabori River, you face the Central Public Hall!!

Enjoying coffee while looking at such a beautiful view feels truly luxurious♪

04. Overlooking the harbor! Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel

Finally, the Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel at Osaka Port!

The giant wheel stands tall in the Tempozan Harbor Village, which houses the classic Osaka attraction Kaiyukan Aquarium and commercial facilities. The wheel is 112.5m high! It was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, which is truly impressive.

You can not only admire the wheel from outside but also enjoy the scenery from inside it.

From the air, you can enjoy a luxury seat with panoramic views of the harbor area, including the red symbol of Osaka Port, the Port Bridge.

Also, Osaka Port is famous for its sunset views; in the evening, you might see a beautiful reflection of the orange sunset against the Ferris wheel♪

The night view is also beautiful, like fireworks blooming in the night sky!

This time we introduced classic Osaka scenic spots, but there are many other Osaka attractions, from famous places to hidden gems.

You can search for spots by purpose and station using Osaka Metro NiNE.
