Visit the largest azalea mountain in East China, come to Tanggongling B&B in Ningguo, Anhui to see ten thousand mu of blooming azaleas!
In southern Anhui, there is the largest azalea mountain in East China. Every year from April, ten thousand mu of azaleas bloom together, dyeing one hill after another red—truly worthy of the name 'mountain-reflecting red'! This azalea forest is located on Tanggong Mountain in Yunti She Ethnic Township, Ningguo City, Xuancheng, covering an area of over ten thousand mu. Tanggong Mountain is 1,130 meters above sea level. On its summit, large areas of high-altitude azaleas grow naturally. Starting every April, the azaleas bloom continuously for over a month. From a distance, they look like a huge flower garland adorning Tanggong Mountain.
The azaleas on Tanggong Mountain are as red as fire, as brilliant as sunset clouds, stretching in continuous patches, competing in full bloom. They are resistant to barrenness and drought, quietly blooming deep in the secluded mountains—some growing on cliffs, some on the mountaintop, some along narrow winding paths, some in thickets. Just like the revolutionary martyrs who struggled hard, were indomitable, and feared no hardships, they are unknown yet resolute and brave!
According to local elderly legends, due to the high altitude, strong winds, and low temperatures on Tanggong Mountain, ordinary plants find it hard to grow. The tenacious high-altitude azaleas stubbornly grow in stone crevices. Although they grow very slowly, their flowers bloom defiantly in the wind, displaying their unyielding pride. This wild azalea forest, with some plants reaching 3 meters in height and a crown of 4 meters, with ages over a hundred years, is a very rare high-altitude plant community. Its flowers are both beautiful and spectacular, attracting tourists from all over the country to come and admire.
