During the National Day holiday, amidst the crowded Huangshan and Hangzhou, there is such a tranquil city

The National Day of 2020 coincides exactly with the Mid-Autumn Festival, so the holiday is one day longer than previous years. Compared to past National Day golden weeks, this year's tourist volume has remained relatively stable due to the impact of the pandemic and the degree of recovery, with some places seeing a decline in total visitors. Currently, besides Xinjiang, popular areas generally have stable tourist flow with a slight increase, such as Hangzhou and Huangshan, two famous tourist cities. The popular Huangshan and Hangzhou in the Yangtze River Delta are packed with tourists, but between these two cities lies a very tranquil city with fewer visitors than expected, and the city is quiet except for locals and self-driving tourists from surrounding areas.

This city, located between Hangzhou and Huangshan, boasts beautiful landscapes that blend perfectly with the urban area, becoming a stunning transfer point between the two cities. It has a very pleasant name: Jixi. Jixi County is situated in the southeast of Anhui Province, bordering Lin'an District of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, as well as Ningguo City, Jingde County, and She County in Anhui. Will the scenic Jixi County be as crowded as Hangzhou and Huangshan during this National Day golden week? No! On October 3rd, I personally visited Jixi County and took some photos, only to find such a serene environment during the golden week, which amazed me.

I suspect many people will say the photos I took are not from October 3rd this year, and even I find it hard to believe they were taken during the National Day holiday. However, they were indeed taken on October 3rd this year. This spot is a corner of the high-speed rail new district in Jixi County, and the prominent banner reading "Welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival, Celebrate National Day" confirms that this photo was taken on October 3rd.

The total population of Jixi County is only about 170,000, with fewer than 80,000 in the urban area, yet the city is clean, comfortable, and boasts numerous tourist attractions. Jixi County is an important cultural, economic, and commercial hub of ancient Huizhou, designated as a national-level historical and cultural city. Don't underestimate Jixi County; its influence extends deeply across Anhui Province and even the entire Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai-Anhui region. Most of the wealthy and noble families in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai trace their ancestry to Jixi, and the influence of Huizhou culture left here is immeasurable.

It's hard to imagine this is the center of Jixi County during the National Day holiday. Although the number of tourists is surprisingly low, it offers a fresh, comfortable, and tranquil experience. During this holiday, people around Jixi can take advantage of the few visitors and beautiful scenery to enjoy a good trip. How serene Jixi County is, located between Hangzhou and Huangshan! It seems I was incredibly lucky!

In the West District Park of Jixi, besides the picturesque natural scenery, there are also Huizhou-style buildings rich in cultural atmosphere, providing an excellent experience. Such a beautiful place, yet so few tourists, especially considering it was the peak holiday season on October 3rd. To have such a peaceful environment is truly rare. Isn't such a Jixi worth a visit?

The urban parks of Jixi, represented by the West District Park, are mainly for local residents' leisure, with few outside tourists. I suppose it's because Jixi's fame is far less than that of Hangzhou and Huangshan. However, the scenery of Jixi is no less impressive than that of Hangzhou or Huangshan. With beautiful landscapes, few tourists, and convenient transportation, it's a hidden gem.

Jixi County is rich in tourism resources and has a profound historical and cultural heritage, making it a rare excellent tourist city in China. I stumbled upon Jixi and ended up visiting it casually. Little did I expect so few tourists, such a good environment, and such beautiful scenery. So I decided that next National Day, I must come to Jixi County for an in-depth tour, and I will absolutely not just skim the surface.

Now let me show you Jixi's external transportation: Jixi County's external transportation is extremely convenient, currently accessible to over 90% of cities in China. To check the total number of tourists in Jixi County, I specifically went to Jixi North Railway Station. The crowd was not large, far fewer than in Hangzhou or Huangshan. It seems Jixi is a worthwhile destination during the golden week. Do you like Jixi County?

Jixi is located between Hangzhou and Huangshan, 49 kilometers from Huangshan North Station and 156 kilometers from Hangzhou. It takes 19 minutes by high-speed rail to Huangshan and 76 minutes to Hangzhou. It is a typical transfer point in the Hangzhou-Huangshan tourism circle. For now, the total number of passengers at Jixi North Station is not very high. Compared to Hangzhou and Huangshan, Jixi is more suitable for leisure vacations.

Now let's take a look at Jixi's conventional railway station. Jixi County Station is a large marshalling station on the Anhui-Jiangxi Railway. To the north, it reaches Ningguo, Wuhu, and Nanjing; to the south, it reaches Huangshan, Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong. Transportation is very convenient. Due to objective conditions, the old Anhui-Jiangxi Railway was suspended for most of the year. To address the travel needs of residents along the railway, the state cautiously resumed some passenger trains. Now from Jixi County Station, you can take trains directly to Ningguo, Xuancheng, Wuhu, Ma'anshan, Nanjing, Huangshan, Jingdezhen, Changsha, Fuzhou, Kunming, Guangzhou, and other places.

Since the Anhui-Jiangxi Railway line was just restored to operation around the National Day, there are not many passengers, and there are many empty seats on the trains. It appears that Jixi County is a great place to visit between Huangshan and Hangzhou because of its beautiful scenery, few people, and extremely convenient transportation. Whether by high-speed rail or conventional train, it is convenient and uncrowded.
