The Dreamlike Beauty of Meiganling Terraced Fields in the Morning Light—How Could One Not Be Enchanted

In the third month of spring, in order to catch an encounter with the rapeseed flowers on Meiganling in the morning light, I got up at 5 a.m., because the sunrise time recently is around 6:10 a.m. So, at 5:30 a.m., I rushed to the eastern terraced fields of Meiganling to watch the sunrise scenery. Due to the thick cloud layer, I only captured the morning light, not the sunrise itself.

Yesterday evening, I climbed up to the observation platform on the mountain, panting heavily, and pre-observed the position of the sunrise in the east. There were many tree branches blocking the view, and the shooting angle was not ideal. So, this morning, I gave up shooting from the platform on the mountain and chose a spot by the winding mountain road, preparing to capture the sunrise morning light.

I set up the tripod, adjusted the parameters, and took the first test shot.

Looking into the distance, the mountains were lush green, ranges connected, terraced fields arranged in a well-proportioned manner, dreamlike and fantastical, as if stepping into a wonderful realm.

The layered mountain ranges of Meiganling spread slowly around like the beautiful Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. As time changed, the mountains, clouds and mist, villages, and terraced fields combined into a magnificent picture.

In the faint light of dawn, through the rosy clouds filtered by the clouds, the misty mountains and partially visible terraced fields made one cannot help but exclaim: How truly beautiful!

Standing in such a naturally formed tableau of southern Anhui, breathing in the thick fragrance of flowers, between visual pleasure and delight, I appreciated the elegance of the mountains, the vastness of the water, and the charm of the distant ancient village.

Enjoying the sea of rapeseed flowers at Meiganling Terraced Fields, one can experience the fragrance and romance found only in the mountains of southern Anhui.

It not only looks rich in layers but also has the unique Huizhou charm exclusive to southern Anhui.

The position of the sunrise was blocked by the mountain peak behind the village. When the sun finally came into view, it was already radiant. The faint mist in the morning floated over Xingfu Village, appearing like a fairyland from afar—very beautiful!

That ray of light suddenly burst through the clouds, swept over the mountain ranges, and scattered onto the rapeseed flower fields. At that moment, between heart and heaven and earth, all things returned to tranquility...

A wisp of morning light spilled onto the terraced fields

In the morning light, standing on the winding mountain road opposite the village, watching the wisps of cooking smoke rise slowly, I unconsciously hummed the childhood song "Again See the Cooking Smoke," letting my heart take flight. Taking a deep breath of the fresh, unique mountain air in the morning, I was truly intoxicated!

In the early morning, lingering among the mountains, the clouds and mist over the terraced fields, set off by the morning light, appeared indistinct, like an ink-wash fairyland.

Every visitor was deeply attracted by the scenery of the rapeseed flowers on the terraced fields. The flowers were in full bloom nearby, while in the distance, villages and high mountains rose in layers. The beautiful scenery left photography enthusiasts in awe, made handsome men and beautiful women continuously strike poses for selfies. The sounds of DSLR cameras and mobile phones taking pictures, along with the exclamations of tourists, rose and fell one after another...

Walking along a country path, gazing at the dazzling colors, the golden rapeseed flowers covering the mountains and plains presented a spectacular sight of another kind.

The path wound slowly through the undulating terraced fields.

Who made this landscape so beautiful? A kind of romance drowned the entire season.
