A Leisurely Spring Outing
Spring still lingers, yet summer has come. The crisp April sun shines with a gentle brilliance.
Our families all happened to have this weekend off, so we signed up with Jingde Impression Travel Agency in advance for a one-day parent-child barbecue trip to Youran Valley, to get close to the beauty of spring and enjoy the fine mountains and waters of Xinglong Town.
The night before departure, we arranged to go to the supermarket and bought lots of fruits and snacks. The kids were very happy and excited.
The next day at 9:30 we assembled at Zishan Hotel and departed. The bus was lively and bustling. It felt great to completely clear my mind. Since I'm usually quite busy, I took this chance to really relax.
We arrived at Youran Valley Ecological Resort at 10:30. Here, I must introduce this resort in my hometown to friends reading my travel guide.
Youran Valley Ecological Resort is located at the foot of the Huangshan Scenic Area, a UNESCO Global Geopark, in the core area of the Southern Anhui International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone. It is 30 kilometers from Huangshan Scenic Area. Nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains, the entire resort is integrated into thousands of acres of forest. There are lakes in the forest, villas on the lakes, houses in the villas, courtyards in the houses, trees in the courtyards, sky above the trees, and moonlight in the sky — constantly immersed in a fairyland of mist, birdsong, and floral fragrance. The scenery is beautiful, with distinct seasons and colorful diversity.
The staff of Impression Travel Agency asked us to act as families, each collecting barbecue utensils and dividing tasks. Self-service barbecue was available, and Impression Travel Agency also arranged professional barbecue masters to help, but I preferred to do it myself.
Eating, drinking, and having fun together, sharing the joys of life.
The food was grilled crispy on the outside and tender inside; we played with great delight.
The feeling of grilling and eating at the same time was wonderful. Although occasionally the smoke was a bit uncomfortable, I experienced the joy of doing it myself.
After eating and drinking our fill, we leisurely chatted under the shade of trees. It was past 1 o'clock, so we prepared for the next activity.
Impression Travel Agency also had dedicated game instructors. It was the first time I heard of such a job, quite interesting.
The games included three-legged race, Beitou softball, wheelbarrow race, and double-person roly-poly.
Our family still liked the double-person roly-poly the most.
After an hour of effort, I finally achieved a result I was quite satisfied with — the Best Participation Award, haha. But Dapang's family was more aggressive than us and got the championship (I won't post a picture; I'm afraid Dapang would be embarrassed).
Happy times always pass so quickly. Before we knew it, the activities ended amidst laughter and joy. At 15:00 we officially headed back. Our families also agreed to make plans to go out together again when we have time. It was not only a way for us adults to relieve life's stress and slow down our pace, but also to find playmates for the children, so they can grow up together.
