1. Only RVs listed in the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) announcement catalog can go through registration procedures.

Regardless of weight, towable RVs must be registered; they are classified as travel trailers. They look like the yellow license plates of trucks, but unlike trucks, they are not prohibited from entering urban areas. Also, you may have seen signs saying 'Yellow-label vehicles prohibited.' The yellow label refers to vehicles that do not meet environmental standards, which is completely different from the yellow license plate of our towable RVs. Everyone, no need to worry.

2. As for insurance, trailers do not need to purchase compulsory traffic insurance.

Follow the new vehicle registration process: pay purchase tax, inspect the vehicle, register it, and obtain a yellow trailer license plate. Towable RVs require annual inspection once a year.'

Article 43 added to the 'Regulations on Compulsory Traffic Accident Liability Insurance for Motor Vehicles' by the State Council's Decision to Amend the Regulations (State Council Order No. 630, effective March 1, 2013): 'Trailers shall not purchase compulsory traffic accident liability insurance for motor vehicles. In the event of a road traffic accident causing personal injury or property damage, the insurance company that insured the towing vehicle shall compensate within the liability limit of the compulsory insurance; any shortfall shall be borne by the towing vehicle party and the trailer party in accordance with the law.'
