Are You Ready? Xi'an Qujiang Cultural Tourism Joins Hands with Jingzhou, a Splendid Spring Festival Lantern Show Is About to Begin
Jingzhou Garden Expo Park is a Chu-style themed park that uses water as the environment and greenery to connect the scenery. It features 17 municipal exhibition gardens, covering an area of 1,550 mu, with exquisite garden landscapes. During the Spring Festival this year, in order to actively respond to the initiative of "celebrating the New Year locally" and to enrich the variety of cultural and entertainment activities to meet the people's needs for a better spiritual culture, the Expo Park, together with the Tang Paradise Scenic Area under Xi'an Qujiang Cultural Tourism, jointly organized the second Jingzhou Garden Expo Park Spring Festival Lantern Show.
The event will officially start on February 4. The layout is novel and ingenious; 44 sets of lanterns will be lit up simultaneously, flowing with light and splendor, creating a festive and peaceful New Year atmosphere for citizens and tourists. The entire lantern show is themed "Splendid Jingchu, Colorful Expo." Adopting the creative concepts of high technology, low energy consumption, fine craftsmanship, and large scale, it introduces cool high-tech lantern sets that integrate sound, light, electricity, and interactive experiences. These blend Jingchu culture, traditional folk culture, and the most popular modern fashion elements, showcasing the humanistic and ecological beauty of the ancient city of Jingzhou.
With fiery trees and silver flowers lighting up the night, the entire park becomes even more colorful after dark. This Spring Festival lantern show is divided into five major lantern set sections and six major activity area sections. The 44 lantern sets are diverse in form, each with its own merits. There are not only landscape atmosphere lanterns, flower lanterns, animal lanterns, and waterscape lanterns but also anti-epidemic themed lanterns that carry good wishes and gratitude. Most of these lantern sets are inspired by the Chu culture that has been passed down for thousands of years in this land of Jingchu. The colorful lanterns delicately adorn this ancient city, merging sound and light shows to present local culture in multiple dimensions. They exude ancient charm and are uniquely distinctive.
In addition to the colorful light show, the scenic area also offers a variety of performances and activities: the most passionate trendy bands, the most traditional special folk performances, the most representative Jingzhou cuisine, river lantern prayers, the Shangyuan Lantern Riddle Party, and other special performances and activities, creating a lively and festive Spring Festival atmosphere. These not only bring traditional culture back into the view of modern people but also inject fashionable and trendy elements, adding fun.
This lantern show draws on the mature Spring Festival lantern show model of Xi'an Qujiang Cultural Tourism and relies on the rich tourism and cultural resources of the ancient city of Jingzhou, with history as the foundation and culture as the empowerment. Under this strong partnership between both sides, it can not only invigorate the park through cultural tourism and night economy activities, promoting the development of all-for-one tourism and creating a Spring Festival cultural tourism brand that is "first-class nationwide and top in Hubei," but also make this lantern show another successful case of Xi'an Qujiang Cultural Tourism's brand export.
