A Night of Fiery Trees and Silver Flowers: Jingzhou Garden Expo Park's Spring Lantern Festival Shines on Chinese New Year

From paper lanterns to special effects lights, thousands of years have passed, yet the people's pursuit of festive joy remains unchanged—the lantern festival always brings the warmest delight in the coldest season. To carry on this tradition and promote Chinese culture, Jingzhou Garden Expo Park, in collaboration with Tang Paradise under Xi'an Qujiang Cultural Tourism, held a Spring Lantern Festival during the Chinese New Year period, jointly lighting up the Chinese New Year and offering a cultural feast for citizens and tourists alike.

The lantern festival will officially light up on February 4th, when 43 themed lantern sets will bloom throughout the park, blending traditional customs with modern technology to create a dazzling world of lights. Trees along the main routes in the park are decorated with various string lights; as night falls and thousands of lights shine together, the Garden Expo Park transforms into a world of colorful lanterns. This year's festival is divided into five major lantern sections: "China Power," showcasing the country's brilliance; "Striving Jingzhou," recording the nation's strength; "Spring Night Garden Tour," full of festivity and excitement; "Tech Jingzhou," dynamic and trendy; and "Jingchu Memory," reflecting Jingchu culture. Altogether, 43 distinctive lantern sets create a rich Spring Festival atmosphere.

All lantern sets use steel frame structures with internal translucent artistic treatment, and are covered with colored silk in layered colors, all magnificent and dazzling. Lantern sets such as "Blooming Wealth," "Turning the Tables (Ox Turning the Wheel)," "Dazzling Magic Ball," and "Graceful Dance" create an imposing lantern festival scene. With traditional festive colors like Chinese red and gold as the main tones, visitors can feel a strong New Year flavor. Among the five lantern sets in the "China Power" section are charming themed lanterns including "Happy New Year," "Interactive Swing," "My Motherland and I," "Fish and Rice in Jingzhou," and "Lantern Riddles," forming a grand scene where lanterns and scenery blend into a majestic spectacle.

At the same time, the festival also features fun activities and performances such as cultural parades, trendy shows, dazzling light shows, influencer check-in spots, and the national trend wave, greatly enhancing the entertainment and interactivity of the event, catering to the different needs of various visitors.
