2.4 Xiaonian, Bright Lanterns! Twin City Lantern Festival Officially Opens, Jingzhou Garden Expo Park Overflowing with Festive Atmosphere
On February 4, the lunar Xiaonian, the 2021 Spring Festival Lantern Festival at Jingzhou Garden Expo Park, exclusively sponsored by Quchi Dongyuan, was officially illuminated. This lantern festival is a joint effort between Jingzhou Garden Expo Park and Xi'an Tang Paradise to create a 'Twin City, Twin Park' Spring Festival lantern show. At 7 p.m., accompanied by graceful dances, spirited drum beats, and dazzling fireworks, Jingzhou Garden Expo Park and Xi'an Tang Paradise simultaneously lit up their lanterns to welcome spring. Thousands of lanterns bloomed brilliantly, integrating traditional culture and New Year blessings into the colored lights, immersing visitors in a rich festive atmosphere.
Five Major Lantern Sections Illuminate the New Year
At the Garden Expo Park Spring Festival Lantern Festival, 43 themed lantern sets are divided into five major sections: 'Spring Night Garden Stroll,' 'Striving Jingzhou,' 'Power of China,' 'Memories of Jingchu,' and 'Tech Jingzhou.' These sections present the historical culture and contemporary spirit of the Jingchu region from different angles, reflecting the harmony, beauty, auspiciousness, and good fortune inherent in folk culture, as well as the nationwide effort to build a better home together. Lanterns such as 'Prosperous and Harmonious,' 'Good Luck in the Year of the Ox,' and 'Great Fortune' create a strong New Year atmosphere and convey good wishes. Lanterns like 'Aid to Jingzhou,' 'Duty to Guard the Land,' and 'Hainan Aid to Jingzhou' record the united fight against the pandemic, celebrate the strength of the nation, and express gratitude for the support and encouragement from fellow citizens. Lanterns such as 'Land of Fish and Rice Jingzhou,' 'Cloud Dream Jingchu,' and 'Phoenix Perching in Jingzhou' showcase the long-standing Jingchu culture, full of local characteristics.
Six Activity Zones Welcome the New Year
This Spring Festival Lantern Festival at Jingzhou Garden Expo Park takes advantage of the Spring Festival, the oldest, grandest, and most cohesive traditional festival of the Chinese nation, and uses the traditional folk custom of viewing and admiring lanterns as a vehicle to popularize New Year culture and revisit New Year customs. At the same time, it leads fashion trends by integrating advanced sound and light technology to create dazzling light shows, and features stylish creative installations, trendy performances, a national trend wave, immersive experiences, and specialty foods.
