Jingzhou Garden Expo Park Spring Festival Lantern Festival Lights Up! Brilliant Lanterns Illuminate the New Year
On February 4, 2021, the 'Splendid Jingchu & Colorful Garden Expo' 2021 Second Spring Festival Lantern Festival at Jingzhou Garden Expo Park was officially launched. In active response to the call, to provide more cultural and recreational activities for those spending the New Year locally, and to enhance their sense of gain, belonging, and happiness while alleviating their homesickness, this lantern festival will last until March 14, with an exhibition period of nearly 40 days, spanning traditional festivals such as Little New Year, Spring Festival, and Lantern Festival. It features over ten activities including lantern viewing, New Year customs and celebrations, trendy performances, national trend elements, folk performances, interactive parades, family entertainment, colorful light shows, specialty cuisine, popular check-in spots, and intangible cultural heritage creative products.
This lantern festival is jointly created by Jingzhou Garden Expo Park and the Tang Paradise Scenic Area under Xi'an Qujiang Cultural Tourism, with Quchi Dongyuan as the title sponsor. It is divided into five major lantern groups: Spring Night Garden Tour, Vigorous Jingzhou, China Power, Jingchu Memory, and Technology Jingzhou, displaying 43 lantern sets. Among them, some showcase Jingzhou's characteristics, such as Phoenix Coming with Auspicious Signs, Dreamlike Jingchu, Chu-style Shehuo, and Gifts of Jingchu; others create a festive Spring Festival atmosphere, such as New Year Flavor, Year of the Ox Auspiciousness, Thriving and Prosperous, Blossoming Wealth, and Ox Turns the Tide. While using traditional craftsmanship and showcasing New Year culture, the various lantern sets combine high-tech methods such as sound, light, and electricity, incorporating diverse elements like technology, trends, and anti-epidemic themes. This not only creates a dreamlike world of lights but also injects deeper meaning into the event.
This is not just a lantern festival carnival, but also a cultural feast where humanities, technology, history, folklore, and trends interweave. Based on the lanterns, the event also introduces many trendy projects such as the Phoenix Dance in the Sky light show, trendy band performances, interactive entertainment installations, wonderful theater shows, cultural parades, specialty cuisine, and exquisite creative products.
