Strolling through lantern fairs, admiring festive lanterns, savoring delicious food, igniting warm family bonds, and experiencing rich Spring Festival flavor
Today is the second day of the Chinese New Year. According to tradition, married daughters visit their parents' home accompanied by their husbands, so this day is also known as 'Welcoming Son-in-Law Day'. If in the past people used to give gifts, eat, drink, and chat on this day, then this year on the second day of the New Year, there will be more options — visiting the Garden Expo Park to admire lanterns, watch performances, and enjoy delicious food. This will not only make your day special but also strengthen family bonds through interaction.
The current lantern fair at the Garden Expo Park, themed 'Splendid Jingchu, Dazzling Yuanboyuan', was lit on Little New Year's Eve. With high specifications and standards, five major lantern groups and six activity areas have been created, leaving all visitors praising it as 'wonderful', 'fun', and 'interesting'.
The five major lantern groups are 'Spring Night Garden Stroll', 'Striving Jingzhou', 'China Power', 'Jingzhou Memory', and 'Tech Jingzhou', totaling 43 lantern displays. At the fair, colorful lanterns of all kinds compete in beauty, presenting a dreamy scene blending 'modern light shows with traditional lanterns'. Upon entering the main gate, the first thing that catches the eye is the over 30-meter-long 'Inspiring Jingzhou' lantern group. Its overall design traces traditional origins, conveying a peaceful New Year atmosphere while also imparting the artistic taste and cultural depth of the entire park.
Continuing along the lantern fair, visitors will pass by the Spring Night Garden Stroll area, Striving Jingzhou area, China Power area, Jingchu Memory area, and Tech Jingzhou area one by one. Among them, the Jingchu Memory area is the core zone of this lantern fair. The lanterns there are meticulously crafted based on legendary stories from Jingchu culture — lantern groups such as 'Chu-style Festivities', 'Dream of Jingchu', 'Phoenix Arrives', and 'Phoenix Alights in Jingzhou' showcase the long-standing Jingchu culture, evoking memories of the magnificent and mysterious civilization of Chu.
The various lantern groups are a highlight of this year's fair, but not the only one. During the Spring Festival, the Garden Expo Park will also offer trendy performances, folk shows, dazzling light shows, national trend experiences, internet-famous check-in spots, and specialty foods — all located in six zones: the Welcome Zone, Commercial Creative Zone, Internet-famous Check-in Zone, Fashion Performance Zone, Food Interaction Zone, and National Trend Experience Zone. Visitors can choose different areas to explore based on their preferences.
Come to the Garden Expo Park to stroll through the lantern fair, taste delicious food, solve lantern riddles, watch performances, and accompany family and friends to celebrate a New Year full of ritual!
