Travel Notes of Japan (Part 1): Hokkaido, Tokyo.
Time flies, and soon my child will finish elementary school. The COVID-19 pandemic has been raging for almost three years. This entry records the most recent trip to Japan during the summer vacation of 2019. We visited Sapporo, Otaru, Biei, Furano in Hokkaido, and the famous Hoshino Resorts Tomamu in Hokkaido. The last few days were spent in Tokyo (the National Museum of Nature and Science and the Tokyo National Museum).
In 2019, at the Spring Airlines check-in counter at Pudong Airport. There were really a lot of passengers back then, and no one wore masks. (Spring Airlines is at the easternmost A island of Pudong T2, and back then the Spring Airlines check-in counters were the busiest.)
Arrived at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido.
Heading to the hotel near Sapporo Station...
On the way to Otaru...
Otaru Music Box Museum.
Otaru's sushi and the popular spot Otaru Canal, a legacy of the pioneering era.
Visiting the Hokkaido countryside: Biei โ Furano Farm.
Breakfast at the Sapporo New World Hotel.
Next stop: Shiroi Koibito Park.
Ready to go to Tokyo... One more bowl of Hokkaido ramen...
Akihabara in Tokyo truly is a paradise for electronics and figures...
Kawagoe near Tokyo, not a time travel (laughs). Little Kyoto...
Learning from Uncle Goro, I pointed at the menu on the wall to order. It had the feel of a tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant from "Solitary Gourmet."
My daughter's first visit to a shrine. There were so many people before the pandemic. I dare not look back now.
Tokyo Dai-ichi Hotel in Shimbashi.
Cheers to this drink!!!
Tokyo Dai-ichi Hotel in Shimbashi.
In the distance is the Tokyo Tower.
Checked out the Tokyo National Museum (exhibition of Three Kingdoms of China). And the National Museum of Nature and Science (special dinosaur exhibition).
Travel is a way to relax and find happiness, but the most important purpose of travel is to broaden one's horizons and enrich one's experiences. It has been three years since my last trip to Tokyo. I hope the pandemic will end soon, and there will be plenty of time ahead!!! Review in March 2022.
