At the grand opening ceremony, Mr. Chanin Donavanik, Chairman of Dusit International; Ms. Suphajee Suthumpun, Group Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Daisuke Kadokawa, Mayor of Kyoto; and Mr. Singtong Lapisetpun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, jointly performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Ms. Suphajee Suthumpun, Group CEO of Dusit International, said: "Opening a hotel in Japan has been a dream of ours for many years. Stepping into the hotel, you will feel a wonderful fusion of Japanese and Thai cultures. Dusit Thani Kyoto is more than just a hotel; it is a testament to the perfect blend of the two cultures and the immense passion behind this fusion."
Dusit Thani Kyoto, under the group's flagship brand Dusit Thani, features 147 comfortable guest rooms, a beautiful lounge, and a serene courtyard that perfectly encapsulates the four seasons of Kyoto away from the hustle and bustle.
The four-story hotel houses five dining outlets, including its signature Thai restaurant Ayatana, helmed by former Bo.lan chefs Duangporn "Bo" Songvisava and Dylan Jones. Bo.lan has received Michelin stars for several consecutive years. Other dining venues include Koyo Teppanyaki and Den Kyoto Bar. Dusit Thani Kyoto features the iconic Devarana wellness center, which ingeniously blends ancient Thai massage therapies with Japanese holistic spa approaches. Additionally, the hotel offers a fitness center and an indoor pool.
