"Ice and Snow Caravan" Enters Cangzhou and Langfang: North-South Collaboration Delights in Ice and Snow Feast

The Beijing Winter Olympics are drawing closer, and the atmosphere of the whole nation engaging in ice and snow sports to welcome the Games is becoming increasingly vibrant. On December 2, the Hebei Province community and rural mass ice and snow sports promotion demonstration activities entered Fenghuangcheng Community in Cangzhou City and Lincheng Village in Langfang City, featuring a variety of exciting ice and snow experience events that sparked an ice and snow sports craze in communities and villages. Young short track speed skating champions, outstanding teachers, and model students were among the participants, attracting residents and villagers of different occupations and ages to experience ice and snow projects, learn about Winter Olympics knowledge, and feel the charm of the Games.

Young Short Track Speed Skating Champion Joins Community Members on Ice and Snow

"Wherever the 'Ice and Snow Caravan' goes, ice and snow sports extend, and the passion for experiencing ice and snow spreads!" On December 2, in Fenghuangcheng Community, Cangzhou City, the cold weather could not stop everyone's enthusiasm. Hundreds of community members actively participated in ice and snow sports, with laughter filling the air. Qian Qianyu, a provincial youth short track speed skating champion from Cangzhou, joined everyone on the ice and snow to feel the charm of the sport and welcome the Beijing Winter Olympics.

"I send my blessings to the Beijing Winter Olympics from Cangzhou, the city by the Bohai Sea. I love skating deeply and will train hard to bring honor to my country!" At the event, Qian Qianyu spoke her thoughts into the camera.

Qian Qianyu, age ten, studies at Huanghe Road Primary School in Cangzhou. She started roller skating at age 5 and switched to ice skating in October 2019. She won the first gold medal for the Cangzhou team in the short track speed skating competition at the 16th Hebei Provincial Games. Qian Qianyu experienced ice and snow sports such as land curling and tabletop curling along with everyone else, along with fun activities. The young champion not only has a talent for skating but also excelled at the curling toss game, hitting the target with her first throw, earning praise from the crowd.

Cangshi Company sponsored land curling and tabletop curling for the event, having a deep connection with ice and snow sports. Employees from Cangshi Culture and Sports Technology Development Co., Ltd. shared their own stories about ice and snow sports and explained how to play these projects to the community, prompting everyone to give them a try.

In recent years, Cangzhou City has made precise efforts in building an ice and snow sports competition system, promoting ice and snow in communities and villages, and introducing ice and snow into schools. It held the 3rd Cangzhou Ice and Snow Games and the Ice and Snow League, carrying out ice and snow promotion activities across 390 communities, 167 towns, and 503 key villages in the city. The city built "ice and snow experience zones" close to residents, launched campus ice and snow seasons, and sent ice and snow caravans into villages, raising public attention and participation in ice and snow sports. It has made full efforts to drive the development of ice and snow sports and create a strong atmosphere for welcoming the Winter Olympics. Currently, 19 indoor public skating rinks and 14 ski resorts have been completed and opened, with over 3 million people participating in ice and snow sports across the city, making the events lively and colorful.

Langfang City Lincheng Village:

70 Kilometers Directly South of Beijing: All People Enjoy Ice and Snow Feast

Entering Lincheng Village in Gu'an County, the streets are wide and straight, high-rise buildings and villas are arranged in a picturesque manner, and a modern hot spring town comes into view. At Wanrong Square in Lincheng Village, the "Ice and Snow Caravan" brought a variety of ice and snow sports experience equipment, and people of all ages played with great excitement. Parent-child groups, teacher-student groups, three-generation families, threw curling stones, played with ice and snow puzzle toys, viewed Winter Olympics knowledge exhibitions, participated in fun curling challenges, and sent blessings to the Winter Olympics. The lively scene attracted wave after wave of villagers out for a stroll to join in.

Lincheng Village is located 70 kilometers directly south of Beijing, enjoying a unique geographical advantage as an excellent destination for rural tourism from Beijing, Tianjin, and surrounding areas. Especially since the end of this summer, the village's thousand-acre sunflower sea has become a new internet-famous spot. On the road to rural revitalization, the village's collective economy has grown rapidly, and the living environment has increasingly improved.

At the event, villagers of all ages eagerly participated, creating a bustling and festive atmosphere. The intense "Welcome Winter Olympics: Lincheng Village Mass Ice and Snow Star" land curling challenge final kicked off. Around the track, villagers and students formed a circle to cheer for the participants, with the scene being very intense.

"Becoming a village ice and snow star makes me so happy! Ice and snow sports are so much fun. I practiced with the tabletop curling first, and during the competition, I hit the target right away!" Wang Haonan, a student from Lincheng No. 1 Middle School, said happily after winning the final PK.

Special souvenirs were prepared for the participating villagers at the event, including a deck of playing cards designed specifically for ice and snow sports activities in communities and villages, which everyone loved. Granny Wang, aged 77, who lives in Lincheng Village, just took part in the "Welcome Winter Olympics: Strive to Be Lincheng Village Mass Ice and Snow Star" fun curling challenge and received a commemorative prize. "These playing cards are really nice; I can learn about Winter Olympics knowledge from them. I'll keep them as a treasure," said Granny Wang, showing off her prize to the older friends around her.

It is reported that the Gu'an County "Ice and Snow Caravan" themed activities in communities and villages have been enthusiastically carried out in 16 communities and 18 villages, with over 67,000 people participating. The events promoted ice and snow sports knowledge and culture, deeply loved by the masses. Moving forward, Gu'an County will leverage the ice and snow "six entries" project to penetrate 25 communities, 10 towns (industrial parks), 30 key villages, 107 schools, 30 enterprises, and 2,000 households, conducting ice and snow knowledge promotion and skills training, enhancing the public's enthusiasm for participating in ice and snow sports, so that ice and snow sports and experiences are deeply integrated with national fitness, creating a strong atmosphere for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
