Mo Fo Cao Tang Calligraphy and Painting Academy wishes everyone a happy New Year 2022
Guo Wanlu, originally named Jianlu, style name Mo Fo, courtesy name Xiu Fu Jushi, now resides in Beijing, professional calligrapher and painter. Born in 1972 in Wen'an County, Hebei Province. He is a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a member of the Beijing Dongcheng Calligraphers Association, a national gift calligrapher, a member of the Langfang Calligraphers Association, and a director of the Langfang Buddhist Association.
He studied under the renowned calligrapher Mr. Liu Junjing. He currently serves as the president of Mo Fo Cao Tang Calligraphy and Painting Academy. The calligraphy master Sun Boxiang inscribed a plaque for his studio, and renowned calligraphers Hu Limin, Liu Zhengcheng, and Liu Jingwen also inscribed plaques for his studio. Chen Lifu, an elder of the Kuomintang in Taiwan, inscribed calligraphy for Mr. Guo Wanlu at the age of 100.
He loves all four styles of calligraphy and also studies landscape, flower, and bird painting. He mainly focuses on running script, cursive script, and clerical script, and is most famous for running script and large-character script. For seal script, he studies Yang Yisun. For running and cursive scripts, he studies the "Two Wangs" (Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi), Huaisu, Zhang Xu, Wang Duo, and Yu Youren. For regular script, he follows the model of Liu Gongquan's calligraphy.
