Famous Calligrapher Guo Wanlu Receives the Honorary Title of 'People's Artist'
Guo Wanlu, formerly named Jianlu, style name Mofo, also known as Xiufu Jushi, currently resides in Beijing. He is a professional calligrapher and painter. Born in 1972 in Wen'an County, Hebei Province. Member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, member of the Beijing Dongcheng Calligraphers Association, national gift calligrapher, member of the Langfang Calligraphers Association! Director of the Langfang Buddhist Association. Studied under the famous calligrapher Mr. Liu Junjing. Currently serves as the president of the Mofo Caotang Calligraphy and Painting Academy. The calligraphy master, Mr. Sun Boxiang, inscribed a testimonial, and the famous calligraphers Hu Limin, Liu Zhengcheng, and Liu Jingwen inscribed the studio plaque! Mr. Chen Lifu, a veteran of the Taiwan Kuomintang, inscribed a piece for Mr. Guo Wanlu at the age of one hundred. His calligraphy embraces all four scripts, and he also studies landscapes, flowers, and birds. He focuses mainly on running script, cursive script, and clerical script, with running script and large-character calligraphy being most prominent. He studied seal script by copying Yang Yisun.
