Gu Jindong (Lidong), male, Han ethnicity, born in 1963. Member of China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, member of China Calligraphy Association, member of Hebei Province Calligraphy Association, Vice Chairman of Bazhou City Hard Pen Calligraphy Association of Hebei Province.

Mr. Gu Jindong's calligraphy is delicate, open-minded, generous, and magnanimous. His calligraphy primarily uses squared strokes, featuring a unique softness. In terms of brushwork, it is also very distinctive—not only clean and crisp but also incorporating many dynamic elements, making it overall more lively, robust yet simple, graceful and varied, combining square and round forms with skillful maneuver. From Mr. Gu Jindong's Wei stele works, it can be seen that he is adept at using both square and round strokes, expressing them thoroughly and without restraint, creating a unique charm that appears more natural and full of emotion. This mastery of Wei stele calligraphy has earned Mr. Gu Jindong many fans and established his firm foothold in the calligraphy world.

Mr. Gu Jindong, looking across the entire calligraphy world, is one of the very few calligraphers nationwide who can write Wei stele so exquisitely, and he has achieved perfection, bringing a new atmosphere of combining strength and softness to Wei stele calligraphy.
