Visiting Detian Transnational Waterfall, Exploring a Paradise on Earth (7-Day Fun in Southwest Guangxi)

● Day1: Nanning

[Itinerary] On the first day, spend the daytime at Qingxiu Mountain enjoying flowers, hiking, picnicking, and city walking. In the evening, head to the downtown Sanjie Liangxiang area to experience the old Nanning lifestyle.

Old Nanning ancient alleys from the Ming and Qing dynasties, including Chenghuang Temple, Deng Yingchao Memorial Hall, China Grand Theater, Wanguo Restaurant, and the martyrdom site of Su Jian, the prefect of Yongzhou. It offers various food, entertainment, shopping, and intangible cultural heritage experiences.

● Day2: Nanning → Chongzuo [Nanning city → Pingxiang (about 209 km, 2.5 hours) → Ningming city (about 55 km, 1 hour)]

[Itinerary] Depart in the morning to Youyi Pass in Pingxiang, then visit the World Heritage site Huashan Rock Art scenic area. In the evening, enjoy the night view of Chongzuo Taiping Ancient City. Stay overnight in Chongzuo.

1. Youyi Pass: Ticket 42 yuan, recommended time 2 hours. One of the nine famous passes in China. To the left of the gate tower is Zuobi Mountain city wall, to the right is Youfu Mountain city wall. The end of National Highway 322 passes through the arched gate of Youyi Pass and connects with Vietnamese roads. It is an important land route to Vietnam and a national first-class port.

2. Huashan Rock Art: Boat ticket 90 yuan. Time 3 hours. Over 2,000 years old, it is the largest, richest, and best-preserved single rock art site discovered in China, a World Heritage site. The scenic boat ride takes about 1 hour one way. Upon arriving at the core area, you can disembark for a close-up view. Boats depart at fixed times 10:00 and 14:30 daily; don't miss them.

3. Taiping Ancient City: Free. Time 2 hours. A rebuilt ancient city based on ruins, with beautiful night views, a paradise for Hanfu enthusiasts.

● Day3: Chongzuo - Daxin [Chongzuo city → Daxin county (72 km, 1.5 hours) → Kanxu township (53 km, 1 hour)]

[Itinerary] In the morning, head to Daxin Longgong Wonderland scenic area, then to Kanxu Township's Mingshi Countryside scenic area. Stay overnight in Mingshi.

1. Longgong Wonderland: Ticket 99 yuan, tour time 2 hours. Longgong Wonderland is divided into Ice Cave and Dragon Cave. The Ice Cave is a nearly 30,000 cubic meter ice cave created from a natural karst cave, combined with natural snow and ice technology to create a spectacular ice and snow cave with ice curtains, ice terraces, ice stalactites, ice flowers, ice icicles, and ice tunnels. The temperature inside the Ice Cave is kept at -5 to -8°C year-round, with interactive activities like ice slides and snow drifting. The Dragon Cave is a typical karst natural cave with spacious halls and magnificent stalactite formations. The cave is cool in summer and warm in winter. The scenic area also has cliff-side flying dragon and Na River rafting activities.

3. Mingshi Countryside: Mingshi bamboo raft ticket 120 yuan. Recommended time 2 hours. Mingshi is the filming location for works such as 'The Journey of Flower', 'Wine is the Fragrance of Hometown', and 'A Doctor in the Wilderness'. The best way to visit is by bamboo raft, floating downstream while enjoying the pastoral scenery along the banks, listening to the melodious songs of Zhuang ethnic girls on the boat. ● Day4: Daxin - Jingxi [Mingshi → Anping (15 km, 0.5 hour) → Shuolong (40 km, 1 hour)]

[Itinerary] In the morning, visit Tongnayu Bay, the filming location of 'The Journey of Flower'. After noon, go to Detian to see the largest transnational waterfall in Asia. Stay overnight in Shuolong.

1. Tongnayu Bay: Ticket 130 yuan, tour time 2.5 hours. Originally named Anping Fairy River, it is a national 4A scenic area and a national wetland park, 15 km from Mingshi Countryside (about 20 minutes by car). The main activity is boat tours. Recommended: Longbi Beach Waterfall Cluster and the two Chinese-style photo spots in the Water Forest Secret Realm – great for photos! The area also offers chieftain culture experiences and xianxia performances, with various flowers year-round. It's fun for kids without being tiring.

2. Detian Transnational Waterfall: Ticket 115 yuan, tour time 3 hours. Located on the Sino-Vietnamese border, Detian Transnational Waterfall is the fourth largest in the world and the largest transnational waterfall in Asia. To visit, you can take a bamboo raft on the border river to get close to the waterfall, or take a magic carpet up the mountain to the Detian landmark Sky Ring, and experience the thrilling glass walkway. Finally, you can slide down via a chute. It's fun and exciting. Inside the scenic area, you can enjoy Vietnamese coffee, baguettes, chicken pho, ice cream, Vietnamese yogurt, and other foods.

[Itinerary] Wake up naturally, then head to Jingxi city, known as 'Little Guilin in landscape, Little Kunming in climate'. Explore Tongling Grand Canyon, then visit Jiuzhou Ancient Town, the hometown of Guangxi's embroidered balls. Stay overnight in Jingxi.

1. Tongling Grand Canyon: Ticket 115 yuan. Time 2.5 hours. Tongling Grand Canyon is about 4 km long, a large tiankeng formed by crustal movement, surrounded by steep cliffs. It is very spectacular. Inside, there are various herbaceous plants. Hike to the bottom of the canyon and follow the clear stream to the 188.6-meter drop Tongling Grand Waterfall, said to be the highest single-drop waterfall in Asia. Beneath the waterfall are caves and underground rivers, very mysterious.

2. Jiuzhou Ancient Town: Ticket 48 yuan, time 2 hours. Jiuzhou is nationally famous for its embroidered ball street, with many ancient buildings. It is said that everyone here, young and old, three generations, can make embroidered balls with exquisite patterns. Walking along the street, you see people of all ages sitting at doorsteps sewing embroidered balls. Every household hangs various embroidered balls, and prices are very cheap. In the past, embroidered balls were tokens of love between young Zhuang men and women; now they are traditional crafts of Jiuzhou and auspicious gifts for friends and family.

● Day6: Jingxi - Baise [Jingxi → Goose Spring (10 km, 0.2 hour) → Baise city (140 km, 1.5 hours)]

[Itinerary] In the morning, head to Goose Spring, the source of Detian Waterfall. Then go to Baise city to experience the red spirit of revolution. Stay overnight in Baise.

[Must-Visit Spots]

1. Goose Spring: Ticket 48 yuan. Time 2 hours. Goose Spring is the source of Detian Transnational Waterfall, one of the three famous springs in Southwest China. The spring water gushes from the foot of the mountain, forming a deep pool. The water is very clear, allowing you to see fish and grass. Highly recommend trying the local snacks: fried fish and tofu pudding are really delicious. Climb the back hill for a panoramic view of the whole Goose Spring area.

2. Baise Uprising Memorial Park: Free, time 2.5 hours. The most red (revolutionary) place in Guangxi. You can visit the Baise Uprising Memorial Hall, Baise Uprising Monument, Huang Wenxiu Memorial Hall, and the Clean Government Hall, and learn about Deng Xiaoping, Huang Wenxiu, and the poverty alleviation stories of Baise people.

3. Guangdong Guild Hall: Located on Jiefang Street, Youjiang District, Baise. Built in the early Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, funded by Guangdong merchants traveling to Yongzhou. It was a venue for Guangdong merchants to meet and do business. The original building had front, middle, and rear halls, with over 20 side rooms. It was here that Deng Xiaoping and other older generation revolutionaries planned and commanded the Baise Uprising.

Food recommendations: Big hemp duck, Baise blood sausage, grilled pig eyes, shili lotus chicken, black zongzi.

Day7: Baise - Return to Nanning [Baise → Long'an county (190 km, 2 hours) → Nanning (about 102 km, 1.5 hours)]

[Must-Visit Spots]

1. Longhu Mountain: Ticket 60 yuan, combo ticket with bamboo raft 100 yuan. Time 2-3 hours. Longhu Mountain is one of China's four major monkey mountains, with about 3,000 macaques in various groups. There are three main monkey troops: Air Force, Army, and Navy, each with their own territory. Every November to December is the monkey king competition period, selecting various monkey kings. When watching monkeys, remember not to hold anything in your hands, otherwise the monkeys will come to 'steal peaches'. Taking a bamboo raft, you can also enjoy monkeys diving – they are all diving champions.
