【Super & Langfang】Seeing the Red Chamber Again
So close, so beautiful, spend the weekend in Hebei. A short day trip nearby, just right to visit Langfang's 'Only Dream of Red Mansions'.
On the way to Langfang in the morning, before getting on the expressway, I first went to the long-renowned Honghu Lake for breakfast.
As a local Tianjin native, objectively speaking, it's overrated. Whether in scale or quality, it still falls quite short of the Northwest Corner.
The 'Only Dream of Red Mansions' scenic area is quite close to Tianjin, making it convenient to reach the destination.
I arrived just in time for the 'You Huan Wu Theater' to watch the performance 'Dream of Red Mansions'. The lighting effects and atmosphere were quite thoughtfully done. Overall quality and viewing experience were very good.
Through dialogues between Cao Xueqin, himself, and the characters, the fates of the characters are revealed, allowing a textual exchange with the author across time.
For visitors who enjoy savoring words, it is an audio-visual feast.
Afterwards, I went to 'Shanghai Road' to watch an immersive performance.
The overall layout of the scenic area mostly draws inspiration or creativity from 'Dream of the Red Chamber'. Through changes in distant and close views, a dreamlike feeling is created, allowing visitors to use their imagination and resonate with the scenery.
Personally, I prefer the style of large open spaces, plain white, vermilion... From the perspective of scenic area management, it is more suitable for operation, with lower maintenance and repair costs.
For tourists, the summer visit experience is somewhat compromised.
Apart from the Red Chamber scenes and ancient costume film scenes, there are also several small modern scenes thoughtfully created. They recreate daily life from the 1970s and 1980s.
The immersive theater 'No. 35 Middle School' was really, really, really emotional.
A group of adults sit in a classroom, and actors secretly blend in. Suddenly they break away from the audience role beside you, enter the plot, and naturally lead you to become part of the class. Along with the teacher and classmates, you relive your youthful days.
'I Don't Like the Red Chamber' was a bit noisy, but it struck an emotional chord with many people. It was also a very well-designed program.
Overall, the scenic area has good layout, good program quality, and good visitor experience, providing an excellent idea for the operation of film studios.
Of course, there are still many shortcomings in overall commercial operation and hardware/software facilities, with room for improvement and enhancement.
