A Video of Honglongjing in Dali Ancient Town, Yunnan

On the afternoon of the third day in Dali, we were arranged to dine at Yuren Jiyi (榆人记忆), a restaurant on a tranquil street in the ancient town, a street with a babbling brook called Honglongjing (红龙井). Stepping onto this street amazed me; it's named after the Honglongjing Pavilion, inside which there is a well and a jade cabbage sculpture, with four red dragons coiled around the pavilion's pillars. We entered the restaurant opposite the pavilion for dinner. After dinner, we returned to the central square of the street. The crowd around the pavilion had dispersed, leaving only an old banyan tree to stand guard and tell stories. Legend has it that there was once a spring well here, and a red dragon in the well blessed the land with favorable weather and good harvests. This is also the birthplace of the 'Jade Cabbage' story, a magical tale that has become a beautiful legend of the ancient city. Today, the water comes from the Cangshan Gorge. Crystal-clear stream water meanders through channels, flowing through every nook and cranny of the street. The artificial stone bridges, steps, and waterfalls along the street paint a scene of 'clear spring water flowing over stones.' How could one not cherish such a place? Strolling along the flower-lined street or sitting quietly for a rest under the willow trees, when a gentle breeze brushes your face and willow leaves tease your hair, how could one not fall in love with this street? As the sun sets in the west, the water channel reflects the lingering rosy clouds, and the charming street lamps light up, making Honglongjing appear even more elegant and otherworldly.
