Dali Cangshan Jizhao Temple, a particularly artistic temple. Its name derives from the meaning 'feel and then comprehend, silence and illuminate'. The temple was first built in the early Ming Dynasty, and later during the Republic of China, Tang Jiyao presided over its reconstruction. The characters 'Jizhao Temple' on the temple gate were inscribed by him. The temple is surrounded by lush pines and cypresses, with a serene environment, exuding a fresh and elegant atmosphere throughout, truly embodying poetic charm.

Whenever I have free time, I walk to Jizhao Temple, which is only 2 kilometers from the 'Yuan Wu Wei Guesthouse', to enjoy vegetarian meals and admire the flowers. I have written many travel notes about Jizhao Temple; if interested, you can search my homepage to find them, which might help you more.

At the foot of Dali Cangshan, there is a temple named Jizhao Temple that is very famous but has 'little incense'. The temple is filled with various flowers and plants, mainly succulents, supplemented by other flowers, making it a garden-style temple. If you travel to Dali and haven't been here, you might be out of the loop.

Leave behind the city's hustle and bustle, stroll through the great oxygen bar of Cangshan, and embrace nature up close. Jizhao Temple might be a great place to go. In the temple, there is only the smoke from cooking, not the smoke of incense. Unlike ordinary temples, here they do not burn incense, so 'the incense is not abundant'. With less smoke, there are fewer worldly worries, and it also contributes more to environmental protection.

Living at the Yuan Wu Wei Guesthouse at the foot of Cangshan, I often get invited by tourists to guide them up the mountain to Jizhao Temple to experience vegetarian meals and enjoy flowers. I always gladly agree every time. Over time, when I have nothing to do, I pack a small bag, grab my unfamiliar camera, and spend a whole morning with the flowers and plants in the temple.

The plants in the temple are mainly succulents. In front of the temple are hydrangeas, and at the back are two greenhouses with various roses. When in bloom, it's almost unrealistically beautiful. Most tourists only admire the succulents inside the temple and miss the 'outside world', which is a real pity.

Inside Jizhao Temple, various shaped succulents fill every corner. Every time I go, I discover something new—perhaps an old piece of wood, an old household tool, or a beautiful flowerpot. Randomly planting a few succulents creates a new world; it seems like a paradise for succulents.

Calm your mind, bend down, and get close to the succulents. While enjoying this quiet beauty, I choose different angles to capture the most beautiful moments, all while listening to the noisy complaints of nearby tourists. Fortunately, I have honed the skill of letting noise in one ear and out the other. After filtering out these distractions, the world seems quiet again—what a profound enlightenment of silence.

Quiet your mind, blend into nature, and give your soul a thorough relaxation. Accompany flowers, discover unique beauty. Experience with your heart; you too can check in to a beautiful life.

Today, I mainly share some beautiful photos taken casually at Dali Cangshan Jizhao Temple. Take your time to appreciate them! Friendly reminder: at the end of the article, there is a small guide for visiting Jizhao Temple that might help you.

1. From Dali Cangshan Gantong Temple parking lot to Jizhao Temple, the walk takes about 20 minutes.

2. The vegetarian meal time at Jizhao Temple is around 11:40. Meal tickets can be purchased on the left side of the main hall for 20 RMB per person.

3. Jizhao Temple has many exotic flowers and plants, as well as many small ornaments. These are great spots for taking photos and cultivating your mind after meals.
