Your Wuxia Dream Awaits Here || Two-Day Wudang Mountain Travel Guide
What does Wudang Mountain look like in your mind? Is it an immortal old man with white hair and a ruddy complexion like Zhang Sanfeng strolling among the peaks? Or is it martial arts masters as renowned as Shaolin Kung Fu dueling on the Golden Summit? Wudang Mountain is known as the "Number One Immortal Mountain under Heaven," and has been a sacred site of Taoism since ancient times. Since Zhang Sanfeng founded the Wudang Sect, it has a history of several hundred years, and to this day, the fame of Wudang has long resounded throughout the world.
For most post-80s and post-90s generations, knowing about Wudang may not be because it is a Taoist sacred site, but thanks to Jin Yong's wuxia novels. In Jin Yong's wuxia novels, Wudang is a reputable orthodox sect, known as "Northern Shaolin, Southern Wudang." Especially in the novel "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber," the Wudang Sect clearly becomes the protagonist, with Zhang Sanfeng and his disciple's descendant Zhang Wuji performing stories of great chivalry.
