The hotel was budget-friendly, though not high-end, it was sufficient for a solo traveler. I must commend the front desk staff for their enthusiasm. The hotel was clean and hygienic, leaving a good overall impression. It's called Shangyite Chain Hotel. I had never heard of this chain before; I only knew of brands like Home Inn.
Besides dining options, there is a large supermarket nearby. I went in and bought some snacks. This small county is no less lively than big cities; the supermarket was crowded with people.
Fang County's Guanyin Cave Scenic Area is located 3 kilometers south of the county seat. In front of the cave stands a thousand-year-old spring osmanthus tree that blooms in spring, spreading fragrance everywhere. The scenic area is lush with vegetation and ancient towering trees. From the top, you can see distant mountains and nearby waters, and a panoramic view of Fang County city. It faces Fenghuang Ridge in the front and backs onto Longgang Hill, with rolling mountains, majestic scenery, purple mist, and birdsong and floral fragrance. The scenic area features one hall, two caves, three stars, and four sights. The Patriarch Hall has flying eaves and upturned corners, simple and elegant; Guanyin and Guan Di caves stand side by side, accompanied by the osmanthus; the Fu, Lu, and Shou stars have kind faces; Crouching Tiger Mountain, Lovers' Valley, Xuanwu Palace, Viewing Pavilion – these four sights complement each other. A mountain is not famous for its height but for the immortals that dwell there. This cave heaven and blessed land is truly unique, and Guanyin Cave Scenic Area is indeed a splendid spot in Fang County.
Fang County Yeren Valley: The two national AAAA-level scenic spots, Yeren Cave and Yeren Valley, are located in Duchuan Village, Yeren Valley Town, 25 kilometers south of Fang County. Yeren Cave has five halls, five palaces, and fifty-nine sights within. The cave has two levels; to climb from the lower level to the upper level, you need to use steep ladders. Inside, the stalactite groups created by nature resemble people, birds, flowers, brocade, with various shapes and myriad forms – like Buddhas, birds, animals, forests, waterfalls, all lifelike and vivid. The underground river is crystal clear, with a constant temperature of 14°C all year round. Yeren Valley is located 9 kilometers south of Yeren Cave. Here the mountains are majestic and the waters beautiful, the valleys are deep and the gorges dangerous. The ancient primitive forest is an absolute natural museum. Within the valley, there are multiple attractions: Huan Cai Ridge, Yeren Beach, Yeren Mansion (Dodge Army Cave), Dragon Beard Waterfall, Yeren Tribe, Sky Rope Cliff Climbing, Dragon Gate Suddenly Opens, Cliff Castle, and more.
