Remember nostalgia, retain feelings, practice the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, see new changes in the countryside. Recently, Shiyan Smart Cultural Tourism will launch a series of articles titled "A-level Scenic Spots and Rural Revitalization Demonstration Villages", exploring the beautiful rural scenery, food, and accommodation in Shiyan, taking you into villages that are like A-level scenic spots, experiencing the countryside and discovering more ways to enjoy it, savoring a slow pastoral life. In this issue, the editor takes you to Lvjiahe Village, Guanshan Town, Danjiangkou City. Follow us closely, let's set off together.

Lvjiahe was originally named Maoping River, reportedly named after Lü Buwei, the prime minister of the Qin Dynasty, who was exiled to Fangling, and his family once lived here. The village covers an area of 18.6 square kilometers, surrounded by mountains, green waters, terraced fields, and charming scenery. It is known as "the First Village of Han Chinese Folk Songs" and also the "Back Garden of Mount Wudang".

Chinese folk songs are a vocal art form that arises and develops from people's life practices. Lvjiahe folk songs originate from the Book of Songs of the Western Zhou Dynasty, grew through Qin opera and Chu music, and thrived with Wudang Taoism. They possess unique regional characteristics, with a wide range of content, diverse forms, rich tunes, and flexible expressions. They are regarded as the "living fossil" of Han Chinese folk songs and were included in the second batch of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List as early as June 2008.

Here, people of all ages love to sing, and every household has singers. More than 200 people in the village can sing folk songs for over two hours, and four can sing over a thousand songs. There are over 5,000 lyrics and up to 79 kinds of tunes. Experts and scholars from domestic and international cultural and artistic circles praise Lvjiahe folk songs as "a wild treasure" and "living fossil of folk songs". Universities such as Peking University, China Conservatory of Music, Central China Normal University, Wuhan Conservatory of Music, and Hubei University of Automotive Technology have established teaching and research practice bases in Lvjiahe Village.

Lvjiahe Village is located on the mid-section of the ancient southern pilgrimage route to Wudang. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, it was a resting place for soldiers, civilians, and craftsmen building Wudang Mountain, a logistics base for Wudang Taoist temples and a leisure and recuperation area for Taoists, as well as a southern ancient pilgrimage route for pilgrims from Fang County, Zhushan, Zhuxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, and other places to worship on the mountain.

Lvjiahe Village is linked with the "Golden Summit" scenic area of Mount Wudang, forming a complementary pattern: "Front mountain for temple viewing, back mountain for scenery; front mountain for martial arts, back mountain for singing; front mountain for pilgrimage, back mountain for customs". It is praised as the "Back Garden of Wudang".

In 1931, after the Third Red Army liberated Jun County, He Long led his troops to Lvjiahe Village in Guanshan Town. In August, he presided over an important military conference here, opening up the revolutionary base in northwest Hubei centered on Mount Wudang, raising the first red flag in northwest Hubei. On the same day, the Jun County Soviet government, which had previously been destroyed by Kuomintang armed forces, was restored and reestablished in Lvjiahe Village.

Later, through multiple investigations, the red fighting stories of major generals of the Third Red Army such as He Long, Deng Zhongxia, and Liu Zhixun, as well as local revolutionary martyrs from Danjiangkou like Ji Dagang and Li Xiang, were excavated and compiled.

In May 2017, the "Former Site of the Third Red Army Command" memorial hall in Lvjiahe Village officially opened to the public, continuing to play a role in educating the people, uniting hearts, inspiring spirit, and promoting development through red culture in the new era.

Living off the mountains and waters, Lvjiahe Village relies on "red culture" and takes advantage of the "green" trend to actively promote investment attraction, attracting "golden phoenixes" to build high-tech greenhouse picking gardens and develop ecological industries. On over 100 mu of land, special industries such as dragon fruit, blueberries, and cherries flourish everywhere.

Nowadays, villagers can not only eat fresh fruits at home but also enjoy the fun of picking.

At the same time, based on the actual industries of Lvjiahe Village, it vigorously develops the mugwort industry, establishes a rural market, leading the villagers to earn more money and smile with satisfaction, truly achieving the integrated development of "red + green" two colors.

Green spreads all over, the blue mountains are like eyebrows,

Looking up at the blue sky and white clouds, looking around at lush trees,

Looking down at green grass and red flowers,

Through the continuous efforts of generations of Lvjiahe villagers,

The once poor "small mountain ditch"

Has now become a lush forest sea scenery,

Gradually forming a chain of pearls,

Becoming a beautiful village.

The Moon and Sixpence don't have to be a choice between two,

Clear waters and lush mountains and deep nostalgia

Are not necessarily a multiple-choice question either.
