Hometown is a place we long to escape when we are young, and a place we can never return to when we grow old...

There is a kind of nostalgia called the cherries of Shiyan.

If we meet in the crowd,

"Hey, the cherries in our hometown are ripe, it's time to go home."

This bittersweet nostalgia,

in April and May each year,

stirs the longing of everyone who has left Shiyan.

Here are ten recommended "cherry-themed routes."

Why not take advantage of the May Day holiday,

take your children and family, and embark on a "cherry journey"

so that this spring leaves no regrets.

Here, there is the dinosaur culture of hundreds of millions of years; the wonder of the dragon egg co-occurrence site is an excellent place for children to study. After learning about the mysterious dinosaur world, go together to a beautiful village to pick Shiyan cherries—the happiness of parent-child time is unparalleled.

After years of careful cultivation, the few large cherries (cherries) in Shiyan are about to ripen and come to market. Liudong Town, Yunyang District, has a beautiful ecology; the large cherries ripen naturally, can be eaten as soon as picked, and the fruit is easy to preserve. After picking large cherries, you can also chase and catch a free-range chicken in the orchard to buy home. Finally, take your family to stroll through the nearby Bailang Ancient Town and Jingziguan Ancient Town for exploration.

When mentioning the reputation of Shiyan cherries, Cherry Valley (Yingtaogou) is certainly unavoidable. Cherry Valley Village is a National Ecological Culture Village and a famous tourism village in Hubei Province. It gets its name from the wild cherry trees covering the mountains and fields. After years of investment, it has become a paradise for leisure. During the day, stroll under the cherry trees, watching the village smoke curl upward; at night, rest in the scattered farm-stay courtyards, listening to the roosters and dogs. Such a life—what more could one ask for?

If you want to talk about the largest cherry planting area in Shiyan, it is Bali Village in Chengguan Town, Fang County. Here, nearly 10,000 mu of improved red cherries are about to enter the ripening period. Villagers combine cherries with local culinary features to create cherry-themed banquets. Dishes such as nourishing cherry stewed fish balls, colorful cherry fish cubes, and premium cherry pastry are mouthwatering—foodies should not miss them.

On the weekend, bring your little ones to Xiao Mazi Ecological Farm in Haokou Village, Liuliping Town. There are fun facilities like the internet-famous little train, seesaw, and swinging bridge. After having a great time, go to Xigou Village, Liuliping Town, to pick a basket of cherries—sweet happiness beyond compare.

The sun is just right, the cherries are sweet. Take your beloved bike for a spin, ride along the reservoir ring road, with lakes and mountains before your eyes, a gentle breeze on your face, feeling the thrill of exercise. Climb up to Bishui Lian Tian to gaze at the beauty, then head to Qiandao Gallery to eat some cherries—this is the charm of cycling around the reservoir.

Arriving at Sanguandian in Danjiangkou City, besides enjoying delicious cherries, you can also experience folk culture at the Farming and Fishing Museum and learn about the changes in agricultural civilization.

As living standards improve, citizens' vacation styles become more diverse; RV camping is a great choice. After eating cherries at Hejiaying Village, Liangshuihe Town, Danjiangkou City, you can go to Jiangkou Village, stay in an RV, and spend a pleasant night there.

Tielu Village, Guanshan Town, Danjiangkou City, has planted large cherries according to local conditions, attracting many visitors each year for picking. The area is rich in tourism resources, including not only natural resources but also the Red Third Army Command Site, making it a top choice for patriotic education.

Hanjiang Street Office in Zhangwan District has a long history of cherry cultivation and a large scale. Along both sides of the road are endless cherry trees laden with red fruits. Besides indulging in the delicious cherries, you can also enjoy farmhouse dishes. There are many farmhouse restaurants along the way, each with its own unique flavors. When you get tired, just pick any farmhouse restaurant to sit down and feast. The cherries and local cuisine here are not to be missed.

"The small hall is deep and quiet, no one comes;

the courtyard is full of spring breeze.

Melancholy by the eastern wall,

a cherry tree with rain, red."

This year's cherries are exceptionally red.

Set off now

to taste the limited sweet and sour of spring in Shiyan.
