Wudang Mountain - The Number One Fairy Mountain Under Heaven

The May Day holiday after three years of pandemic was extremely busy, with traffic jams everywhere. As a designated wage earner, I'm slacking off by recalling my trip to Wudang Mountain five years ago.

It was autumn 2017. Feeling a bit tired from work, I made a spontaneous decision to go.

I took an overnight sleeper train and arrived at Wudang Mountain Station before dawn. Breakfast at a small shop near the station gave me some energy for the climb.

Wudang Mountain Station is not far from the scenic area, accessible by bus.

I caught the first batch of tickets that day. The scenic area shuttle bus took a thrilling winding mountain road.

At Tai Zi Po (Prince Slope), you could see the mist rising from the mountains, giving an ethereal feel.

The Nine-Bend Yellow River Wall is a perfect combination of Wudang's natural features and human spirit, embodying the Taoist ideal of 'unity of heaven and man.'

The 'One Pillar Twelve Beams' is also a perfect example of Wudang architecture.

Purple Cloud Palace, South Cliff Palace, and a photography enthusiast young lady who was very focused.

The 'First Dragon Head Incense Under Heaven' is located at South Cliff Palace—thrilling! Due to weather, it wasn't very clear, but the carving was truly exquisite.

Splendid views unfolded before my eyes, and the incense and crowds were vibrant.

In summary: Wudang Mountain, as a famous Taoist mountain, is worth visiting. The various sub-sights are connected by shuttle buses, but it requires a certain level of physical fitness. After descending, you can stay at the foot of the mountain and visit the Danjiangkou Reservoir the next day.
