2021 Huangshan Trip
My impression of mountains is first that they are tiring and boring. The only famous mountain I had visited was Mount Tai, and I was resistant to hiking. I had always heard that Huangshan is beautiful, and I always remembered the saying 'After climbing Huangshan, no other mountain is worth seeing.' I thought, it's just climbing a mountain, how beautiful could it be? This year, I mustered up the courage to plan a trip to Huangshan, and now I have to say, it is truly beautiful.
After arriving at Huangshan North Station by high-speed rail, turn right to find a tourist bus to Tangkou. It takes one hour to reach the transfer center at the South Gate of Huangshan. All buses to Huangshan transfer here. We chose a nearby hotel to stay at, called Dexin Culture Hotel. The environment and service were both good, and what satisfied me most was that their meals were really delicious.
We chose to go up from the back mountain and come down from the front mountain. At seven in the morning, we took the Cloud Valley Cable Car up to White Goose Ridge and started hiking. At Beginning-to-Believe Peak, we viewed Monkey Gazing at the Sea. The scenery along the way was beautiful. In the West Sea Grand Canyon, we took the right path on the first loop and the left path on the second loop, mainly going down stairs. However, the steps were steep and high, making the descent quite tiring. When we reached the valley floor, we took the popular sightseeing train and then checked into Baiyun Hotel. After resting for two hours, we went to Bright Summit and Flying-Over Rock. We returned to the hotel for dinner. The buffet was 160 RMB per person, and the variety was quite abundant, considering everything was carried up by porters. After eating and drinking, we decided to go to Aoyu Peak to watch the sunset. Lucky for us, we saw a stunning sunset over Huangshan.
The next day, we really couldn't get up, so we missed the sunrise. After breakfast, we followed Aoyu Peak through Aoyu Cave, climbed the Hundred-Step Cloud Ladder, and ascended the highest peak of Huangshan, Lotus Peak. The downhill path was very steep and high, and my legs turned to jelly. Finally, we saw the Welcoming Pine and took the Jade Screen Cable Car down the mountain.
