Fortunately, the Guiyun Shanfang in Hongcun gave me a bit more respect for Ctrip. This is truly a high-end guesthouse, the first house at the village entrance, a large mansion of over a thousand square meters, said to be more than 300 years old. Most valuable of all, it is run by the owner himself, so every detail is carefully attended to and they spare no expense. Of course, the price is also quite high; if booked separately, it basically ranges from one thousand to two thousand.

The owner has arranged the thousand-square-meter ancient courtyard to be simple and elegant, neat and orderly, very refined. Before we even checked in, a beautiful young waiter from the same hometown warmly offered us two cups of hot tea, very heartwarming. In the courtyard, the front faces a typical Huizhou-style ancient house with small doors and small windows. It is said that in ancient times, men would go out for business for months at a time, so the women at home dared not make the windows too large. Haha, did ventilation rely entirely on the courtyard's skylight?

The house has two inner sections. The first section has a high hall with an Eight Immortals table, simple but dignified and imposing. The second section was originally a skylight, but the current owner has converted it into a study. Guests from the eight rooms on the two upper and lower floors can enjoy the owner's hospitality, reading books and admiring the owner's private collection...

A night of deep sleep, in the vast and quiet surroundings. The room had a plate of small fruits, a thoughtful touch. However, while there were tea leaves and tea sets, the lack of a tea strainer was a minor flaw. Flaws do not overshadow the good; overall, I was quite satisfied.

I booked the mountain entrance ticket on Ctrip, and the cable car tickets also needed to be purchased in advance. Only the mountain shuttle bus tickets could be bought on site, which was very quick. The key to entering the mountain was how to arrange the Jade Screen Cable Car and the Cloud Valley Cable Car. We chose to go up via Jade Screen and down via Cloud Valley. The advantage was quickly reaching the Welcome Pine, and while we still had energy, we rushed straight to climb Lotus Peak and Bright Summit.

For a one-day trip, people basically head directly to Bright Summit. Lotus Peak was right before our eyes, but it was impossible to climb it all that day.

We descended the mountain by noon the next day. The Cloud Valley Cable Car has a gentle slope and a long route. Depending on your physical strength, you can decide whether to visit White Goose Ridge and Beginning-to-Believe Peak. We passed Black Tiger Pine and headed straight for the Cloud Valley Cable Car to go down. Our calves were sore, our thighs were cramping, and we simply couldn't climb anymore. Fortunately, we had already seen the classic Monkey Gazing at the Sea and Huangshan sunrise at Lion Peak early in the morning.

Because we chose to stay at Shilin Hotel, a photography-themed hotel. It, along with Xihai Hotel, Baie Villa, and Baiyun Hotel, are all under the unified management of Huangshan Tourism. The price during the National Day holiday was nearly two thousand, and individual travelers even spent four to five thousand. The facilities are between three-star and four-star on the ground floor. Meals are buffet style, 160 yuan per person. It is a bit expensive, but when you see the porters carrying loads of nearly two hundred jin of food, sweating profusely and tottering among the mountains, how can you complain?! I hope the bosses treat them well. It is said they make two trips a day, earning about a hundred yuan per trip. They also bring a dozen apples along and, while we express our sympathy, sell them for ten yuan each. Anyway, I decisively scanned the code to buy one, treating it as a donation. People can endure all kinds of hardships just to survive...
