Dreamless to Huizhou | My Huangshan Self-Driving Travel Diary
During the National Day holiday, you always have to go out and have fun. My husband originally didn’t want to go, thinking the recent mask-related issues are serious, afraid of certain risks. But personally, I feel, if you have time, you still have to go out and play. Whenever there is an opportunity, you must seize it. After all, life is our own.
My husband probably couldn’t resist the temptation of “Huangshan” either, and finally joined me on this self-driving trip to Huangshan.
We took the high-speed train to Huangshan, then rented a Bora from Hi Rent at Huangshan North Station, picking up and returning the car there. I had booked the car before departure. Although fewer people were traveling due to mask issues, it was still a short National Day holiday, so quite a few people were out.
I strongly recommend choosing a large car rental company like this. It’s very convenient, with good service, many car models, and new vehicles.
Scenic Spots:
Since we planned a five-day trip, we had plenty of time to explore, so we arranged many attractions. Besides Huangshan, we also visited Hongcun, Xidi, Tunxi, and other places. There are so many ancient and quaint scenic areas here, and they are really beautiful.
Hotels:
When climbing Huangshan, we stayed at Baiyun Hotel. I highly recommend spending a night on the mountain—the sacred peaks at night feel completely different from during the day.
While visiting Hongcun and Xidi, we also booked guesthouses within the scenic areas. There are tons of guesthouses here with various prices. With a budget of 500+ RMB, you can stay in a very nice guesthouse.
Actually, there are several routes to climb Huangshan. We chose to go up via Yungu Cable Car and come down via Yuping Cable Car, which is relatively easier.
