Lingshan Opens Jiuhua (Three-Day Trip to Jiuhua Mountain)
First, here is an itinerary map of Jiuhua Mountain. The total trip spans three days.
Below is the travel journal:
Direct flight to Jiuhua Airport, efficient and time-saving.
Before going up the mountain, purchase entrance tickets online and contact the hotel/B&B in advance for airport pickup.
It is best to choose accommodation on the mountain for convenient independent travel!
On the first day, we arrived at the B&B in the evening, had dinner there, and then went out to explore the night market on Jiuhua Old Street. It was mainly restaurants and vendors selling mountain products, mostly Huangjing (Polygonatum) and bamboo shoots, along with common handicrafts.
In the morning, visit Huacheng Temple, Zhantan Forest, and Flesh Body Hall in one route; in the afternoon, go up to Baisui Palace.
Left the B&B at 8:00, reached Huacheng Temple in 1 minute.
Then walked 3 minutes to Zhantan Forest.
Then walked 7-8 minutes to the North Gate, hiked up the mountain, passing Maitreya Hall, Dizang Chan Temple, and finally reaching the Flesh Body Treasure Hall.
The Flesh Body Treasure Hall was the most crowded; many people prostrated themselves step by step and circumambulated the hall.
After paying respects at the Flesh Body Treasure Hall, it was around 11:00. Then we took another path downhill, passing through Shang Chan Hall and other practice places.
Arrived at the foot of the mountain around 12:30.
From there, we could walk directly to Baisui Palace in about 10 minutes.
For Baisui Palace, it is recommended to take the cablecar up and down. If you walk down from Baisui Palace, you might encounter wild monkeys!
The second day's itinerary ended at 3:30 PM, and we returned to the B&B to rest.
Left at 8:00 AM, walked 5 minutes to Tiger-shaped Mountain parking lot and took a bus, about 20 minutes to the Tiantai cable car station.
The cable car ride took about 7-8 minutes.
Below the Bai Jing Tai (Sutra Worshipping Platform) there is a stone statue of Guanyin. The view here is wide open, the scenery is very beautiful.
On the way up to Tiantai, the steps are old and steep; it is said there are about 1,200 steps. Most people walk, some prostrate every three steps, and some take a sedan chair.
After coming down from Tiantai, around 1:30 PM after lunch, the B&B arranged a private car to take us down to the Great Vow Cultural Park.
The statue of the Great Vow Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is 99 meters tall, solemn and sacred. Being there in person gives a feeling of 'lotuses laughing together, people standing in the radiant light.'
Exiting the park at 4:00 PM, the B&B's car continued to take us to the transportation hub, and then we returned home.
