1. Overview of the Scenic Area:

Jiuhua Mountain, whose name originates from Li Bai's verse "Miao you fen er qi, ling shan kai jiu hua" (Mysterious is the division of two energies, the sacred mountain opens up nine blossoms), is a branch range of the Huangshan Mountain range. Its main peak and highest peak is Shiwang Peak, with an elevation of 1344.4 meters (1342 meters above sea level). Jiuhua Mountain is located in the southwest of Qingyang County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province, with the central location (Jiuhua Street) at geographic coordinates 117°8′E, 30°5′N.

The uplift amplitude of Jiuhua Mountain gradually decreases from the core area to the edges. The mountain body consists of numerous middle mountains, low mountains, and hills of varying heights, arranged in a staggered and orderly manner. Jiuhua Mountain has a northern subtropical humid monsoon climate, and its rivers and streams belong to the middle and upper reaches of first- and second-level tributaries of the Yangtze River system. Jiuhua Mountain is known for having ninety-nine peaks, among which there are over 70 named peaks and more than 30 peaks above 1,000 meters.

Jiuhua Mountain has a profound cultural heritage. Since the Jin and Tang dynasties, many famous figures have left behind poems, songs, paintings, and calligraphy. The mountain currently houses over 2,000 cultural relics, more than 500 poems and songs by scholars and literati from various dynasties, and over 20 sites of ancient academies and study halls.

Jiuhua Mountain is one of China's four most famous Buddhist mountains, a National Civility Scenic Area, one of the first batch of national 5A-level tourist attractions, one of the first batch of national natural and cultural heritage sites, and a UNESCO Global Geopark. The planned scenic area covers 120 square kilometers, with a protected area of 174 square kilometers, composed of 11 major scenic zones.

2. Transportation:

First, take the high-speed train to Jiuhua Mountain Station, then take Qingyang Bus Route 1 and transfer to Qingyang Bus Route 20 to reach Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area. Accommodation is very convenient here.

3. Itinerary:

The Jiuhua Mountain scenic area is very large, and it is definitely impossible to cover it all in one normal day. There are three cable cars: Baisui Palace Cable Car (45 yuan), Tiantai Cable Car (65 yuan), and Huatai Cable Car (65 yuan). Entrance ticket is 160 yuan, and the sightseeing bus is 50 yuan.

Here is the route I recommend:

1. On the first afternoon, hike to the Jiuhua Mountain Dayuan Cultural Park, where there is a 99-meter tall bronze statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

2. Second day route: Qiyuan Zen Temple ~ Xitian Temple ~ Wanfu Temple ~ Baisui Palace ~ Dongya Zen Temple ~ Huixiang Pavilion ~ Wanfo Pagoda ~ Xiaotiantai Temple ~ Dacizang Temple ~ The True Body of Abbess Yuankong ~ Flesh Body Hall ~ Shangchan Hall ~ Dripping Water Guanyin ~ Bodhi Pavilion ~ Huacheng Temple ~ Qiyuan Zen Temple.
