Bringing Beauties and Mood, Showing Off Some Beautiful Photos in Lijiang
Lijiang is a place with an extremely slow pace. We have no choice but to live a leisurely life. Early in the morning, before we even reached the South Gate, we saw from afar a girl in a blue cloth dress. I was delighted—this outfit was perfect for taking photos. We set off from the south gate of the ancient city. Perhaps because it was the off-season, there weren't many cars on the road, and we soon arrived at the road leading to the snow mountain. A straight road came into view. On both sides were pine trees that had been planted just in the past two years. If not for the yellow lawn behind the pines, you would think it was still spring. Soon we left the urban area. Looking at the yellow grassland nearby with the snow mountain in the background, I couldn't resist pulling the car over to the side of the road. I called them to get out and take some photos. After a few snapshots, we set off again. Soon we reached a fork: one direction led to Yuhu Village, the other to Blue Moon Valley at the foot of the snow mountain. About twenty minutes later we arrived at the toll booth. After entering the snow mountain scenic area, it took about a fifteen-minute drive to reach Blue Moon Valley. Soon we arrived at our destination, Blue Moon Valley. This is a place that can make you cry with its beauty. I thought it would be very cold, but the sun was warm and I didn't feel cold at all—considering this was November weather. I was fine wearing just a shirt. We first walked down along the lakeside. Looking at the yellow and green forest on the mountain behind and the green water below, my mood indeed improved a lot. After strolling for a while, I thought maybe we should go see the upper part—after all, I hadn’t been here in a long time, and it was right to fully appreciate this 'blue eye.' After a long trek by water, we reached the shore and started walking back uphill. Because of the high altitude and the slope, we inevitably felt out of breath after a while. Soon we arrived at the upper lake of Blue Moon Valley. There was also a waterfall here, but it was completely different from the one below—this one was even more beautiful. Back in the car, I checked the time—it was 5 pm. There was still some time before dusk, so we continued driving to see what was behind the snow mountain. I heard that this road used to be the old route from Lijiang to Shangri-La. On the way back to the city, I thought there should be music at this moment. Because dusk was approaching, and at dusk this road is very, very beautiful. The end of a journey is a new beginning. Accompanied by the setting sun, we arrived at Shuhe Old Town—a must-visit when in Lijiang! Compared to before, Shuhe Old Town now has far fewer tourists. On the main street and some central areas, there are more people, but on some small streets, visitors are sparse. However, having fewer people allows one to truly experience the quiet atmosphere of the ancient town and the small bridges and flowing water of Shuhe. The water in Shuhe Old Town has always been clear. Order a cup of coffee, bask in the sun, and quietly enjoy the lazy time in Lijiang. In the evening at Shuhe, I happened to be hungry, so I found an old brand restaurant to taste the legendary food. It was indeed legendary—super delicious, super authentic, with great service and a wonderful environment. There was even a live singer. Very much worth trying! The old ends, and the new begins. Looking forward to the next trip. Travel Diary Directory1.
