1. Shuhe Ancient Town: Lijiang, a leisurely city full of romance and a bohemian charm, has always fascinated me! I came to Shuhe Ancient Town! Because Shuhe feels more primitive and more ecological. The town isn't large, and wandering aimlessly through it has its own unique appeal. That's exactly what I did—I, Shanyejun, came to Shuhe Ancient Town to spend another wonderful night! Among Lijiang's three ancient towns, Shuhe might seem particularly simple. Walking here, you can see pristine farmland, crops, or old houses anytime. This is what Shuhe should look like. If it were styled like Dayan, it would lose its own meaning and value. If you are someone who loves unspoiled, rustic old towns, then Shuhe Ancient Town is one you absolutely shouldn't miss. One thing it shares with Dayan is the very slow pace of life. You can wander idly all day through every nook and cranny of the old town, and also admire the most genuine Naxi living environment, even chatting and conversing with them without any barrier.

① About tickets: Admission to Shuhe Ancient Town is 40 yuan. For such a charming old town, you can enter after 5:30 p.m., and if you stay overnight inside, you can explore freely without needing to buy a ticket.

② Ticket discount policy: In 2020, medical workers are exempt from admission.

③ Opening hours: The old town is normally accessible 24 hours a day.

④ Best season to visit: To be honest, Shuhe Ancient Town is a place suitable for visiting all year round. The spring-like beauty in all seasons makes every season a good time. However, if you prefer bluer skies and whiter clouds, late September to mid-October is the best, when the weather is at its most beautiful of the year.

⑤ Suggested duration: Although Shuhe Ancient Town isn't large, its slow-paced lifestyle is well worth taking the time to savor. I recommend staying one night and spending two days exploring—that might be the best length.

⑥ About dining: Shuhe Ancient Town is a residential area, so restaurants, eateries, and snack shops are everywhere, offering plenty of choices. You could practically live there. So dining in Shuhe is definitely not a problem.

⑦ About accommodation: There are many boutique hotels and unique inns inside. Choices abound, and prices are much more affordable than in Dayan Ancient City!

⑧ About transportation: From Lijiang city, you can take public transport like the airport bus or tourist shuttle to Dayan Ancient Town, then ride a 1-yuan bus directly to Shuhe Ancient Town. You can also transfer. Also, it's best not to take taxis in Lijiang; the reasons are well explained online.

When you stroll slowly through Shuhe Ancient Town, you'll see scenes like this—a poetic elegance of small bridges, flowing water, homes, ancient paths, west wind, and lean horses that stirs the heart.

Perhaps wandering aimlessly through Shuhe Ancient Town is the best way to enjoy it?

Facing such a clean and refreshing Shuhe Ancient Town is truly delightful. Shuhe's beauty lies in its tranquility and its waters. Compared to Dayan, Shuhe has its own unique character and depth.

If you come to Lijiang, I suggest visiting Shuhe and taking a look at Longquan. This is the Longquan Temple where Longquan is located.

Inside Longquan Temple, the prayer plaques hung by devotees are also a sight to behold.

My first reaction was: I never expected to see such a splendid sight in a place so little-known—it truly opened my eyes.

When traveling, you first must not let yourself be unhappy, and second, you must never let your stomach suffer. Visiting Shuhe Ancient Town is no exception. In this hidden paradise, you must find a restaurant with a good reputation and pleasant ambiance to match your state of mind. Sure enough, we passed by a place that looked great, so we went in. The experience was fantastic—not only was the environment lovely and the food delicious, but when we paid, the price was so affordable it surprised me. I absolutely loved it, a must-recommend!

The Teahorse Road Museum is built within the historic Shuhe courtyard of the Mu clan chieftains, a nationally protected cultural relic. Stepping inside, you'll find the layout designed in a palace-like style, giving a sense of deep, layered courtyards. You can reach the museum from Sifang Street in Shuhe Ancient Town by following the alley heading northeast. This is the lane leading to the museum.

Yunnan has been a place with a rich tea culture since ancient times, with tea trade flourishing since the Tang dynasty. Despite the inconvenient transportation, locals used manpower, horse power, and other means to travel mountain paths and waterways to conduct large-scale tea trade with border regions. This trade was extremely arduous, as there were no roads then, only wild trails. Over time, from ancestors onward, a specific tea trade route formed, which is Yunnan's famous Tea Horse Road.

The entire museum is built within the historic Shuhe courtyard of the Mu clan chieftains, a nationally protected cultural relic. Upon entering, you'll notice the layout follows a palace-like design, conveying a sense of deep, nested courtyards. In each exhibition area, you'll see buildings with distinct aristocratic architectural features serving as galleries. The structures are well-spaced and arranged in a scientifically logical layout.

The leather products display in the exhibition hall is incredibly diverse. As soon as you enter, you'll see leather goods from ancient and modern times, both Chinese and foreign, which is truly astounding.

A water flask made of leather—it's unlikely we have the craftsmanship to make such a thing today. One can only marvel at our ancestors' skills, wisdom, and concepts.

In addition, the Leather Museum also displays modern leather bag samples alongside ancient leather goods for comparison, which is very educational. As patriotic education, it's well worth a visit, especially for families traveling to Lijiang with children during summer vacation. It's a great place for kids to learn, broaden their horizons, and cultivate a strong patriotic spirit.

4. Night scene of Shuhe Ancient Town: Shuhe is like a hidden paradise of an old town. Apart from some commercial elements, it mostly retains the serene charm of an indigenous settlement—something Shuhe Ancient Town can absolutely claim.
