Recommended by the hostel owner, we went for lunch. The setting was really nice, prices were cheap, and most importantly, the food was delicious! All the little potted plants looked so delicate. While waiting for our meal, I just messed around. Time to eat! It looked so appetizing!

Overlooking the panoramic view of the old town—even though the weather wasn't great with a light rain and some fog, it still looked stunningly beautiful! Because of the rain, there weren’t many people on the streets, making it feel very peaceful. Such a nice vibe!

Along the way, we kept an eye out for a nice shawl. There were so many kinds, it was dizzying! Finally, with my friend's help, I picked out a beautiful and affordable shawl. Not 50, not 20, just 15 yuan—yes, that's right, only 15! Isn't that cheap? I’m really thrifty and good at managing money, I must say!

Red bean yogurt—tasted pretty good! I just love the combination of sweet red beans with yogurt, perfectly balanced between sweet and sour, really refreshing. I didn’t try the Lijiang snacks because we were searching for an old lady’s chickpea jelly in a small alley. The innkeeper recommended it, said it was delicious.

SHU had the map and told us which way to go. I’m terrible with directions—in an old town full of twisting alleys, even after walking for days, I still couldn’t find my way!

This is the fried chickpea jelly recommended by the innkeeper, from an old lady’s stall tucked away in a small alley. The fried chickpea jelly had a crispy outside and was really tasty! Seeing the old lady setting up the stall alone, we ordered one of everything: chickpea jelly, glutinous rice sausage, fried stinky tofu, and bird’s nest pastry—all pretty good. Because of our patronage, her business picked up, and suddenly there was a long line of people asking what it was. The old lady enthusiastically explained and chatted with them.

People say in Lijiang, anywhere the sun shines is very warm, and anywhere without sun is very cold—not to mention rainy days. Dressed as we two girls were, we soon felt very cold, so we went back to the inn to change. The rain gradually stopped, and the air became fresh! The scenery was beautiful! The clouds and mist swirling among the mountains looked so enchanting!

Let’s settle dinner right here! Sample some Naxi snacks. I remember this dish was delicious—I’m already drooling! Even though it’s like a big mix of things, it tasted great. Time for a hearty dinner!

Sifang Street at night was lively, crowded with people! Without a tripod, taking photos at night was a pain. Just snapped a few random shots as a keepsake. Nighttime in Lijiang is a world of romance and emotion. Out of ten people visiting Lijiang, eight spend their evenings wandering the noisy bar street! The four of us single folks definitely couldn’t miss it. But once there, we really couldn’t stand the booming music that rattled our brains, so we found a quieter spot to watch the World Cup. And there’s that old saying: ‘Romantic encounters are just illusions—bringing your own is the real deal!’ Hey! Say hello first!

Yesterday it rained, but today the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. The weather really changes as fast as moods! We were worried about what to do if it rained every day—luckily, our luck was great! With fine weather, we could take some nice photos! From the back, the shawl I bought yesterday looks really good. What great taste! Only 15 yuan—so worth it!

This scene brought to mind a lyric: 'Just one extra glance at you in the crowd, and I could never forget your face. Since then, I've been longing alone; when I think of you, you're at the edge of the sky; when I think of you, you're before my eyes; when I think of you, you're in my mind; when I think of you, you're in my heart.'

Having a shawl makes for great photos! Lijiang Old Town also has many kinds of ethnic clothing, full of local flavor, which you can buy and try on. The wooden clogs she wore were bought on Sifang Street—comfortable to wear, but the quality wasn’t great; after a few days, the wooden soles started to wear out. While walking around, you’d also see quite a few people sketching portraits—really charming! I like sketching too, but I’m just a beginner. Nowadays, ancient towns are getting more and more commercialized; it’s all about strolling, wandering, and checking out quirky little trinkets.

Dongba wish bells can be seen in many places, especially in Dayan Old Town and Shuhe Ancient Town. Reading the words written on them warms your heart—each bell holds an unfinished story.

‖Naxi baba with egg‖ This is only available after noon. It tasted okay, kind of like scallion pancakes but with no filling inside. ‖Naxi rice noodles‖ These were tasty and quite authentic.

In Shuhe Ancient Town, we stayed at a guesthouse just a few minutes' walk from the town. The environment was okay and quite comfortable! We had a family room with two beds for four people. The guesthouse decor was really charming! It’s said that dogs in Shuhe live very relaxed lives. Everywhere in Shuhe, you can see dogs lounging around, sunbathing, and napping. This Samoyed belongs to the guesthouse owner. I really liked Shuhe; it felt quieter and more comfortable than Dayan Old Town.

In both Lijiang and Shuhe, stone walls are always covered with various guesthouse signs, which create a unique style of their own. We stumbled upon a couple taking wedding photos—snapped a shot! Ding ding dang dang, dang dang ding ding. Before we knew it, the sky darkened. Shuhe is a place as serene as a painting. I love that it’s not noisy or flashy.

Fuxian Little Pot Rice is a restaurant in Shuhe Ancient Town and was the most satisfying one during our Lijiang trip. Not only was the setting good and service great, but the food was incredibly delicious. The prices were also affordable. It’s a specialty eatery that many celebrities have visited, and it’s super popular—definitely worth a try! This was truly delicious, cooked with lots of ingredients and rice, and the crispy rice at the bottom was especially good.

This Naxi delicacy was crispy on the outside and tender inside—pretty good, with a great texture. It was my first time eating it: soft, tasty, and the mouthfeel was excellent. I ate it many times during my days in Lijiang, but in comparison, this restaurant’s version had the best texture!
